About this listen

Follow Nathan, Jess, Denny, and others as they struggle through a post-apocalyptic America, where the only law is martial!

Their struggles take them from the comforts of their southern Illinois homestead, to the brutal realities of an America where liberty is no longer a right, and survival is of the fittest.

I am afraid that this book just isn't for me. If you are an extreme right-winger then you might find it vaguely believable and enjoyable, but I found it rather boring and completely ridiculous. The rest of the world isn't the enemy of the USA.
Unfortunately as I have never served in the USA forces I didn't understand more than about 10% of the dialogue between the forces personnel which really spoiled any enjoyment that I might have got from it.
The narration was rather uninspiring as well, I found that it was almost completely monotonous with no emotion in the performance even in the action scenes.
Just not for me.

I wish I hadn't bothered

This book doesn't quite end on a cliffhanger but it's pretty close. What happens is quite interesting and quite possible I do believe after the last 18 months of how we have seen our world change. This story has some very interesting people in it and I have enjoyed this first book but I'm afraid that I'm going to continue to listen to what happens next .
I received a free code for this book from Audiobooks Unleashed to listen to on Audible. This review is my own honest opinion

Beginning of what appears to be great story!

Being a veteran as well I know the this could happen. If that day ever comes well, I never unhook the oath. during our troubling times with Covid 19 this books provides valuable information as well as an exciting possibility for a red Dawn fight back. narrated perfectly with grand staging. This book os a patriots nightmare yet keeps one on their toes.

I never review if it's not a good book because I think it takes guts to write and publish and it's to be admired. I couldn't get past chapter 10.
