Summary
Under Milk Wood is Dylan Thomas's undisputed and unforgettable masterpiece - an affectionate, but hilarious portrait of a small Welsh town. The classic 1954 recording, featuring a perfect cast led by Richard Burton as "First Voice", is rightly considered to be definitive. This collection also includes two earlier radio programs: Return Journey to Swansea and Quite Early One Morning, read by Dylan Thomas and others. Enjoyable in their own right, they also provide a fascinating insight into the process that led towards Under Milk Wood.

Classic
I have lost count of the number of times I have listened to this amazing play.
I love listening to the voices, the humour, the pathos. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I put this on and I drift off to sleep, it's fabulous and fun and brilliant.

It still send shivers half a century later...
As a teenager in the fifties I heard the original broadcast; the following day at school my friends and I could talk of little else; our excitement at this magical experience of this new work was palpable. The book became - and remains - a treasured possession and I have heard and seen other productions. Investing in the Audible version so long after I wondered how my experience would stand up to my memories. All I can say is that the original excitement returned and the shivers remained...

Beautifully Read
This book is an absolute classic from Wales' own Dylan Thomas. It is beautifully read by Richard Burton, who really brings the colours, smells and innermost feelings of the people who are embroiled in the storyline to life; you feel like you are there seeing it for yourself.
If you only buy one Dylan Thomas book, buy this one; you won't be disappointed.
If that wasn't enough, there are other stories and poems that are included with this download, so you get even better value for your money!

Abridged and cobbled together
This is not the definitive bbc recording , this has been cut , abridged and cobbled together with fifteen or twenty minutes cut out. The recording is very poor . A travesty like this should have not been allowed .
