I've listened to a lot of books, all with good stories, but this has got to be one the best stories I've heard, Joe as usual is absolutely awesome, his ability to completely immerse the listener into the story is incredible, the storyline is amazing the length of the book is perfect, it's keeps you gripped until the very end, bravo

Under Your Scars by Ariel N. Anderson is a dark romantic tragedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Lee Daniels and Joe Arden.

This is the first book of Ariel's that I have read, and it won't be my last. This is definitely one of those books I don't want to give any spoilers away on. So, I will start by saying if you have any triggers please read the warnings before diving into this book. This book completely wrecked me, but I would read it over and over again.

I can't wait to jump into the novella Delilah that is set seventeen years after the events in this book.

Joe and Lee did an absolutely amazing job on this book. I don't think you could have picked any better narrators to bring this story to life. I could feel everything the characters were feeling.

I would highly recommend this book if you're looking for a dark romantic tragedy. This book definitely is not for everyone. So, I will say it again, please check the warnings before diving into this book.

This book was nothing short of phenomenal! The story, the voice acting and the darkness of this book was insanely good! I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with the characters as much as I did, but gawddd that ending … OUCH!

Wow. Just.... WOW!

I finished this in the early hours of the morning after it's release because I couldn't and didn't want to stop listening. I am utterly blown away by Ariel and her writing talent. This is her debut novel ffs! It's going to take me a couple of days to form coherent thoughts and feelings to be able to cobble together my full review for this.

What a journey this book takes you on, I went into this blind all I knew was it is a romantic tragedy and doesn't have a HEA and I am so glad I did. I would advise that you go into this as blind as possible too IF you can, you have to protect your mental health etc so take those content and TWs at the start of this book seriously.

Lee Daniels & Joe Arden were both utterly incredible, the absolute raw displays of emotion in their performances throughout the entire book was next level and left me speechless at times. Thank you both for bringing this story to life the way you did.

Ariel couldn't have chosen better narrators for Under Your Scars. Both Lee Daniels and Joe Arden bring the characters to life with such passion and skill. Daniels captures the emotional depth beautifully, while Arden, in particular, shines in portraying the complexity of Christian’s character. The way he transitions so smoothly between personas is truly impressive. Their combined performance elevates the story, making the audiobook a compelling and immersive experience.

Get ready to cry, ugly fat tears

Can’t say much without spoilers so I’ll keep it short. This Duet narration is literally perfect. Both of them are fantastic but Joe Arden absolutely crushed my soul..he is the most phenomenal Narrator and he broke my heart as the Silencer. It will be a very very long time before I can get this book out of my head. If you decide to read this just know it is a very very sad book with some very distressing situations/triggers. I am a seasoned Dark Romance reader and luckily have no triggers but it entirely broke my heart in a way I never expected. I kinda caught the whole plot very early on in the book yet the ending caught me so off guard i cried like I knew these people 🙈 I have never felt so betrayed by a character in a book before.
Although I will never regret reading/listening to this I can’t recommend it as wholeheartedly as I usually would as I think it’s upto individual readers to make sure it’s a good read for them.

If you are after a book that is all sunshine and rainbows this is not the book for you. This covers some truly deep and disturbing topics, including sexual assault, self harm and suicide. This does not have a happy ending. Akin to Romeo & Juliet, there never was a story of more woe that that of Juliet and her Romeo.

Impeccably performed, gut wrenching and truly truly impactful. My heart goes out to the author for what she endured and her perseverance to tell this story.

I can’t say I enjoyed it but I can say that I am changed by it.

Well done to everyone involved it this story.

this was definitely a 5 star book! and although I knew not to expect a happy ending.. i didn't think I was gonna be left so heartbroken. it was a beautiful but twisted love story. you can't not feel sorry for the main characters and what they have and are going through. I guess.. the story shows reality of what some people go through, and really out things into perspective.. makes me appreciate my own life more!
