About this listen

Humans and elves, dwarves and gnomes, wizards and warriors all live and do business in the thriving, overcrowded port city of Cliff's End, to say nothing of the tourists and travelers who arrive by land and sea, passing through the metropolis on matters of business or pleasure or on quests. The hard-working, underappreciated officers of the Cliff's End Castle Guard work day and night to maintain law and order as best they can.

Arra Cynnis is the youngest child in one of the most powerful families in the wealthy district of Unicorn Precinct. When she's found murdered, with the culprit's identity hidden from the magical examiner's spells, the Captain of the Guard sends his best investigators. Ex-soldier Torin ban Wyvald and half-elf Danthres Tresyllione have two viable suspects: Arra's fiance, who is the cousin of another member of the Castle Guard, or the unknown person with whom Arra was having a torrid affair. Torin and Danthres must navigate the difficult political waters of Cliff's End's upper classes in an attempt to determine the girl's killer.

Complicating the case is the unexpected appearance of Torin's estranged father, who has come to return the detective to his far-off homeland of Myverin, and he won't take no for an answer....

At last, an all-new adventure of the Cliff's End Castle Guard!

A fun read.

Not as good as the first book, but a riveting read nonetheless. The narrator captures the voices brilliantly.

I Loved the narration, which made it come alive even without much description of place

Great series.

Another fantastic adventure with the Cliff's End Castle Guard. Keith R.A. DeCandido's characters and story of Magic, Law and Order are hilarious and so much fun to read.

Unicorn Precinct is the second book in the Dragon Precinct series where crime is rife in the city of Cliff’s End, full of unusual characters from ogres, wizards, hobgoblins, dwarves, gnomes, elves and many more thrown into the mix.

Our two main protagonists and best detectives of Cliff’s End, Ex-soldier Torin ban Wyvald and half-elf Danthres Tresyllione must navigate the difficult political waters of Cliff's End's upper classes in a new murder investigation.

When Arra Cynnis is the youngest child in one of the most powerful families in the wealthy district of Unicorn Precinct is
found murdered, with the culprit's identity hidden from the magickal examiner's spells, Torin and Danthres have two viable suspects in their sight. They must use their expertise and wit to find the murderer and not step on too many upper-class toes.

I recommend this series for either fantasy or crime drama lovers. For anyone who is a member of audible, the first 4 books are available for free with their membership. Narrated by the amazing Michael Page who brings this whole story to life with his excellent arrangement of voices.

Check it out, you wont regret it, now, for the third book, Goblin Precinct....😁🔥🗡🧌🧝🧙‍♂️

Entertaining all the way

My 2nd book in this series - short story that had me hooked from the start: I really love the narrator who’s making it so much better. For me a bit less then the first story but still very entertaining till the end (which came pretty sudden ).. curious on how the series continues. Love the main characters who are good but not perfect - live in a heroic world but are not heroes.. job well done

Second in series

It’s a pity I didn’t realise this was the second story, and generally is not so well regarded as the first. I guessed the perpetrator quite quickly, so the whole book became a bit pointless. Still, I might read the first one now!

Not bad

Somewhat inconsistent in terms of plot and rather simplistic, (not much detecting goes on), but this is ok for an easy listen.
