About this listen
Louisiana homicide detective and demon summoner Kara Gillian is about to learn that vengeance is a dish best served cold - especially when dealing with supernatural crime. But with her closest friends now in harm's way, the demons just made this one personal.

The narrator does a good job, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about the book.
Really wanted to love this book but it was a huge let down, and I'm not sure I'll bother with any more of the series.
Not as good as the rest.

If you could sum up Vengeance of the Demon in three words, what would they be?
Kara's life sucksWhat was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Relief to get to the end to be honest. The whole tone of this book is very dark and just about everything that can hurt Kara happens.Thats not to say its a bad book by any means its almost as gripping as the rest of the series but I just found the relentless everything going bad for our heroine a bit tiringWhich scene did you most enjoy?
The scenes with Rhyzkahl. Some of the only happy bits where Kara has now got the upper hand, especially the one towards the end of the bookWas this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Surprisingly no. All the other books in the series I would have said yes to but this one I found best listened to in smaller parts as it was a bit too depressing to listen for hours on endAny additional comments?
If you have read the others in the series you are bound to read this one and you should. Its still a good book but. its my least favourite so far though for 3 reasonsIt lost its way a bit in the middle. It could have been a bit sharper if maybe an hour or 2 had been tightened up. The last few hours are great though.
I dont like the changes to some of the Characters. A couple of them don't really fit right. Not saying who to avoid spoilers, but it seems a bit strange for example that someone who has been in the series since book 1 has arcane powers and we never knew until now.
The overall tone a bit dark for me - Off to read Romeo and Juliet to cheer myself up.
After finishing each of the previous books I have immediately downloaded the next to carry on, I will download Legacy of the Demon soon, but not as my next book, I want something a bit lighter and happier first.
A Good Book but the Story is Really Dark
