The LA Theatre Works cast of Christine Avila, Barbara Bosson, Shannon Cochrane, Ella Joyce, Kevin Kilner, and Amy Pietz turn a well-worn scenario into highly charged affair; their passionate performances make the dialogue crisp and tense as they argue over Carmichael's fate and, symbolically, the entwining structures of institutional racism, law enforcement, and societal ignorance.
