About this listen

For Hudson, the newly titled Viscount Stildon, moving to England from India where he was born and raised was already an arduous enough endeavor. When he learns the fate of the racing empire he inherited along with his title depends upon him getting in the good graces of another stable owner, he's even more at a loss.

The stable at the neighboring estate has been Miss Bianca Snowley's refuge for years, and when a strange man appears to be stealing the horses, she jumps to their protection without a second thought. Upon learning Hudson is actually the new owner, she can't help but be intrigued by the area's newest eligible bachelor.

Any thought of romance is quickly set aside, however, when Hudson proposes they work together to secure suitable spouses for each other. As their friendship grows, Hudson and Bianca begin to reconsider what they truly want in life. But will societal expectations and the weight of their responsibilities keep them from pursuing their true desires?

I was disappointed in this to be honest, maybe to do with the accent, it wasn't right an American doing a Regency England book. I have listened to other books by this Author, and mostly enjoyed, these had a different narrator.
The book started off promising, but lost me after a while. It did improve when Adelaide & Trent entered the scene (from previous books). Aaron was a good character. I did feel like knocking Hudson & Bianca's heads together though. I realised, too late, that I actually had this book on my kindle (Kindle Unlimited). I am going to try re reading it there to see if I enjoy it more. My suggestion would be to get a British Narrator to do these books that are meant to be set in Regency England.

I would have liked an epilogue, for the reaction of stepmother and the possible wedding preparations!?

on the whole the gentleness of the story

Great listen. I almost missed this one because of the negative audible reviews- which would have been such a shame! It was lovely, fun, adventurous, good story, fun characters and all around good book. The narrator is totally fine as well- not sure what people were complaining about.

Clean, happy, adventurous, feel good book.

The race horse theme was interesting. Could have done with more romance. The end was quite abrupt for such a long book. I see its a series so maybe they get mentioned in the other books. Would totally recommend the book has a lot going for it and apart from the evil stepmother all characters are quite lovable.

Really great book

Ridiculous inaccuracies, ridiculous storyline, idiotic narration, unamusing and unoriginal. Pulp fiction that an AI bot could have written better.

Silly, lazily researched and trite

Regency with an American narrator painfully attempting an English accent just doesn't work for me.
