Summary
A killer in the wilderness.
Forensic anthropologist Caitlin Fleming knows bones. So she is the first one called when seven sets of skeletal remains are found dumped in a makeshift graveyard in the Oregon wilderness. The skeletons bear the same distinctive marks - and each is minus a skull.
Cait needs outdoor guide Zach Sharper for one reason only - to help her find her way through the Willamette Forest as she pieces together clues. Despite the attraction that burns between them, Cait will let nothing shake her focus. Until the killer closes in to terminate the search - and the investigators on the verge of unmasking him...

The Great story line and attention to scientific detail.
the lengthy sex...Alexa skip the next 7 minutes...so many times. I get that it's a romantic story, but romance doesn't need to be so graphic

Worth reading but not as captivating
I enjoyed this book but certain elements of Brant's story telling are starting to get a bit too samey. The lead is always a formerly traumatised woman turned hard-ass that is an expert at absolutely everything imaginable and doesn't need help or attention from any man... until she does! It wouldn't take much for the author to freshen it up a little in that department. Still, the story is entertaining and you never really know where it is going to go, right up to the end.
The descriptive writing and character dialogue is still very well executed and even the predictable romance in this book seems a little better paced.
Pinchot is flawless as a narrator.

Romance on a Knife Edge
Well narrated, intriguing tale of an ossuary requiring investigation by a beautiful ex model who is given a hard time by her mum and all the males around her and not taken seriously, until she is. Sharper is not the sharpest knife in the drawer so these disgruntled oppo-sames attract and interact vertically and horizontally. It's enjoyable to hear a well performed thriller with entertaining characters. I didn't guess the perp. ENTERTAINING

starting to be formulaic
I enjoyed the first book..this one has the same story arc.. narration was generally OK except for the lead female character. the leading woman and man are basically the same characters as the first book..just different names and details

Third one in series read now .....
Read first two in this series hoping the format may change perhaps by the third .. But no.. So why try and combine explicit sex/love scenes with a crime novel it just doesn't work for me :( Story line on this one so convulted on this as to be totally unbelievable ..

Talking Bones
When sevon skeletal remains missing their heads are found in a cave in the Oregon Wilderness the Sheriff brings in Forensic anthropologist Caitlin Fleming. If there is one thing Cate knows its bones and these are some of the most intriguing she has ever seen. With the help of attractive outdoor guide and former ranger Zach Sharper she traverses the area around the crime scene and beyond to get her answers. But as her attraction to Zach grows so does the Sheriff's suspicion that with his training he might be the killer. If she can solve this crime and stay alive it may take a miracle for her to get her happy ever after. Another good entry in the Mindhunters series available with Audible Plus. .

Another great story
At least with these stories you know you're going to get a great adventure. Really interesting listen. I love it when a novel teaches you clever things.
