Das Huhn Dorothea Silberbein trat aus der Scheune und begrüßte leise gackernd den Morgen. Der Torbogen spannte sich hoch und weit über ihm – ein Riesenrahmen, der, wie so oft im Leben, in keinem Verhältnis stand zur Kleinheit seines Darstellungsobjekts. Das Huhn merkte nichts davon. Es sah sich friedlich und freundlich nach allen Seiten um, voller Wohlwollen gegen alle Welt und voller Befriedigung über das eigene, eiererfüllte Dasein.
