Die Fahndung nach Durand ist nur wenige Stunden alt, als sich der Gesuchte auf der Wache stellt - er bestreitet jedoch, der Mörder zu sein.

Die Ermittlungen werden ausgeweitet und es tauchen immer mehr Spuren auf, die zu einem mysteriösen Projekt namens PERV9 führen. Als Jan die finsteren Hintergründe dieses Projekts aufdecken möchte, gerät er selbst in die Schusslinie. Und dann erreicht ihn auch noch der Hilferuf eines verschollenen Mitglieds des Ermittlerteams.
