Editor reviews

In Who Killed My Daughter?, acclaimed young adult author Lois Duncan recounts the harrowing story of her own daughter’s tragically unsolved murder, and her personal quest to find and bring a killer to justice.

Teri Clark Linden performs this raw and affecting memoir, her calm, even voice bringing some balance to the emotional turmoil evident throughout this intense audiobook. Who Killed My Daughter? is a poignant and elegiac recollection of personal grief and grit in the face of immeasurable horror, and Duncan’s journey through shock to rage and eventually uneasy acceptance is gripping, and not to be missed.

really struggled to listen to this book. The narrator was stilted and robotic. So I didn't even finish listening.

This is such a heart wrenching story told by someone so close to the victims and that spurs you on to want to know what happens next. Sending love and light to Lois and family x

Excellent!

The book is heartbreaking but the narrator is awful and makes it so difficult to listen to. This poor girl needs someone who would do her story justice

who picked the narrator??

This is hands down the worst true crime book I have ever read. I even bought the physical book in case I was being swayed by the horrific narrator, but no, that’s just as terrible. I can’t fathom that this author is a professional writer. It’s awful what happened to her daughter Kate, and there is no doubt that her death has been poorly handled by local police, but this mother’s “investigating” is just as bad. This book heavily relies on and contains psychic elements. This isn’t for me, though I accept others may find this interesting. But mostly, this is just a badly written book. The mother seems to feel the need to remind you that she is an author, every other page. Including an instance where she makes sure to tell you that a stranger approached her to tell her she was her favourite author. Yeah right. Regardless of who is responsible for this murder, the fact remains that much of this book is discriminative to minorities. Even the language used is not appropriate. The ongoing use of the descriptor “oriental” as an example.
Now as for the narrator, it’s like listening to an audiobook by siri. So monotone with no emotions and pauses in strange places. Not to mention the completely unnecessary use of accents which toe the line of racism. It’s a joke.
Not worth wasting your time on.

Just awful. Terribly written. Horrendous narrator.

Couldn't finish it as sounds like it's read by an automaton! Unfortunate,
considering the sensitivity of the text.

Badly performed

I enjoyed the story but the narrator was awful and robotic. Wish I'd known it was an unsolved story before i started.
