About this listen

Elliot's mum is ill and his home is under threat, but a shooting star crashes to earth and changes his life forever. The star is Virgo - a young Zodiac goddess on a mission. But the pair accidentally release Thanatos, a wicked death daemon imprisoned beneath Stonehenge, and must then turn to the old Olympian gods for help. After centuries of cushy retirement on earth, are Zeus and his crew up to the task of saving the world - and solving Elliot's problems too?

Great Book!

Love the idea of Gods experiencing the modern world! Both my children enjoyed this story, aged 8 & 11. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Smart and funny

Absolutely loved this one and the series goes from strength to strength with each book. The story gallops along and the cast of characters are all well fleshed out and generally hilarious. It is littered with puns, references and ingenious world building. Great narration and voices too. As a rule I dislike authors on Audible reading their own stories as good performance is a separate skill. This, however, is a solid exception. Maz Evans has a real talent for the different voices which is further enhanced by her knowing exactly how she wants everything paced and emphasised.
Definitely recommended and I defy you not to listen and immediately go and download the sequels.

Hilarious 🤣

I love this book so much. I lent it to my 9-year-old.m cousin so our grandmother could read it to his class and they loved it so much. My favourite character is Virgo and she’s hilarious 😆 The fact that it’s narrated by the author makes it so much better and gives so much more life to it - would totally recommend 😁😁

Listened to while thing I one day.

Loved every minute, great story and love it when authors read their own work, can't wait to get started on the next one.

Really great story telling

I got this book for my son (8) who likes to listen to stories at bedtime. He had Maz visit his school in 2019, so knew some of the book already and was excited to listen to the whole story. Maz dramatises the story so brilliantly, it's hard not to listen, so I became an avid fan myself. We went on to purchase the next 3 books in the series and weren't disappointed at all. Elliot is such a wonderful character and the idea of having all of the fabulous greek legends support him in his tough life is a great idea and very touching in places. Thank you for a great series of books, Maz.

Great for fans of Ancient Greek Gods

We listened to this in the car on a long journey and laughed so many times. Knowing about the Greek gods and the different constellations helped us get all the jokes splattered throughout the story. Great for children aged 7/8 upwards. Having the author reading it added greatly to the performance as she did different voices for each character. Superb!
