Summary

Two schools - both in leafy Larkshire, but worlds apart. The incomparable Jilly Cooper turns her brilliant pen to the explosive world of education.

At Bagley Hall, a notoriously wild, but increasingly academic, independent, crammed with the children of the famous, trouble is afoot. The ambitious and fatally attractive headmaster, Hengist Brett-Taylor, hatches a plan to share the facilities of his school with Larkminster Comprehensive - known locally, as 'Larks'. His reasons for doing so are purely financial, but he is encouraged by the opportunities the scheme gives him for frequent meetings with Janna Curtis, the dynamic new head of Larks, who has been drafted in to save what is a fast-sinking school from closure. Janna is young, pretty, enthusiastic and vastly brave - and she will do anything to rescue her demoralised, run-down and cash-strapped school.

Neither parents nor staff of either school are too keen on this radical move, although some can see the possible financial advantages. For the students, however, it offers great opportunities to get up to even more mayhem than usual.

"My reading of Jilly Cooper's Wicked! was not guiltily pleasurable - it was just pleasurable...a brilliantly refreshing read." (Polly Vernon, Observer)

Fantastic Cooper yet again

I really enjoyed every minute and tried to ration my reading time to make it last. Great range of characters and plausible settings. A wonderful tale.

Almost As Good as Polo

The reviews I read led me to expect this to be a dud but I loved this book, as brilliant as her classics. Well worth it yet again.

Excellent characters

Having read all of the Rutshire Chronicles, I loved this book.
Jilly never fails to entertain, I am never ready for her books to end.
Sherry Baines is a very talented narrator! She really brings the characters to life and her capacity for vocal change and accents is outstanding. On to the next....

Wicked review.

Excellent storyline as usual. I enjoy Sherry Baines narrations and although this book tackled some emotional and tough issues, it was done with sensitivity.

Fantastic

A fantastic story. Fun characters. Love having the Campbell Blacks back. The Larks school children are great.

Not Jillys best but good enough.

It's a long book! Not the most gripping but good enough to keep me listening.

In my previous review I had a technical issue with the audiobook starting at Chapter 36. Audible have sorted this out - many thanks Audible!

Narration not the best

The narrator was so bad at The young people's voices.. Particularly the use of the word 'man' from the larks kids.. So out of touch with youth culture. It was cringe. Story good.
