Summary
The day I left Wilder Valley, I swore I’d never return.
My dreams were too big for this small town, and I was determined to make it in LA, even if that meant leaving behind the man I loved.
Now I’m back, brokenhearted and publicly humiliated after a colossal breakup live-streamed to the masses. I have no career or money to show for my 23 years away. If I could hide out anywhere else on the planet, I would.
Instead, I resort to taking the only job in town. A nanny gig for my high school sweetheart.
Life didn’t go as planned for him either.
Ryan Wilder might be running his family ranch and looking like a tall glass of water while doing it, but he’s also drowning in responsibility, raising three children on his own, and dealing with the challenges of caring for his aging father.
We strike up a deal to help each other out. He offers me a place to stay along with a steady paycheck. In exchange I keep his teenagers out of trouble while figuring out my next step. Everything is perfect until those pesky little feelings from our youth come roaring back.
This time is different, though. We’ve experienced life, and we know what we want. At least, I thought I did. All the dreams I had for myself existed outside of this town, but the more time I spend with Ryan and his family, the more I question everything. Including my wild heart.
Narrated by Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet, Wild Hearts is a steamy second-chance small-town later-in-life romance between a single dad in his 40s and the one who got away!

Second Chance
Val and Ryan are high school sweethearts but Val is restless and just wants to leave their hometown. Twenty two years later Val’s life is in shambles her boyfriend has cheated and taken everything g and has made her look like the cheater to the whole world so Val returns home to her hometown where Ryan is now and has a family. This second chance romance was everything I love about second chances. Children in need of a loving person who has their back and understands what they are going though and a man and father who is open to rekindling and getting to know Val today.

Awe this one was a cute, quick, small town, single dad, second chance romance. Even though the story was basic or predictable and had some drama with both main characters, I really enjoyed it! I also love the cover.
Narrators Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet did a fantastic job for all of the characters. In fact I'm going to check out to see if Robert has done other audios! A new favorite male narrator!

You will love falling in love!
Love, love, love Kacey Shea! Every book pulls me into a warm romance, fantastic characters and a world that I feel like I am a part of. This second chance, single dad romance is all that and more. In high school, Ryan and Valeria were together, until Val left for college. She felt stifled in the small town and needed out. Now years later, she comes home after a public humiliation and finds herself broken and in need. In need of what? Everything this small town has to offer including a job. Does she realize it? Not yet. Ryan is divorced with three kids. He struggles with the balance of home, the ranch and the everyday events of his father. A nanny would be helpful, but seems impossible to keep. Val could be the answer. But will their feelings come into play? All the feels, Shea gives me the small town romance and gossip I absolutely love. She takes on relevant issues, and weaves them into the story with compassion, but keeps them realistic. This story hit my heart and it's going to stick with me for a while. The best kind of listen.
Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet are fantastic as they tell this story. Warren comes in with the broken spirited Val. She is dealing with a lot, and Warren creates her character with a bit of self pity, a big heart and strong character. Hatchet is new to me, and WOW! His voice is the perfect fit for Ryan. He gives all the feels, the weight that Ryan carries and the love he has. This is an incredible team and the performance amazing.

Second change love with hears
Great love story that Kacey Shea wrote. It’s a second chance romance. What happens when the young heart has what makes it happy but the mind wonders what is out there. That’s what happens.
Hero is Ryan. Heroine is Val .
Val has an itch to spread her wings and see where her dreams takes her. Val breaks Ryan heart.
Ryan 20 yrs later is a single dad with three kids. Little does Ryan know he’s going to reconnect with his first love , Val , the universe is giving the love birds at second chance to make things right
It has an HEA after and stay tuned for book 2
The performance of Robert and holly are is fantastic. They brought the character to life

Loved!!
Wild Hearts was an enjoyable listen with wonderful characters.
Single-Dad, Small-Town, Second-Chance, characters in their early 40's
I really enjoyed this book, the author's writing style, and setting up the world was done in a great way! I can't wait to read more about the Wilder Family in future books. Ryan has taken charge of his family's ranch and had a lot on his plate with his ranch and 3 children. When Val finds herself back in her small hometown, in need of a job, she becomes the nanny for her high school sweetheart. I really liked Val's determination to not give up after everything went down with her ex and coming to terms with what was really great about her hometown and her family. Ryan and Val had a lot of things to figure out but their love and connection was there all along! I thoroughly enjoyed this listen, storyline and characters.
Holly Warren and Robert Hatchet both were great at narrating these characters and keeping my attention throughout. My first listen with Robert Hatchet and I definitely look forward to listening to more of his work.

I enjoyed the writing in this second chance romance. I liked the premise of the story, but felt like some things didn’t make sense such as understanding Val’s father being surly when Val went back home and then nicer a few weeks later. A number of issues were brought up but not dealt with enough such as Ryan’s ex-wife - maybe they’ll be dealt with later in the series?
Listened to the audiobook:
Well done narration, but so slow and pauses between words/sentences too long - sped it up a lot to keep the story moving, so voices clipped.
