Quite interesting
This is quite the interesting story. The age of the characters is a bit hard for me but the narrator does a great job here. The story is well done and kept me coming back.

great sequel
I have listened and read book 1 already, as well as reading this one before so was excited to hear how it translated into audio and I was very happy with how it went.
I really loved the way the narrator made Raffi and Pippin sound and had forgotten how funny they both were.
you need to listen or read book 1 first but after that come straight back to this one as it follows their journey into finding the second relic.
overall yet another great book by Lexi and very well narrated.

Beautiful characterisation
I am a big fan of Lexi Rees and her Relic Hunters series, and have previously read Wild Skies in ebook format. As much as I enjoy reading these books myself, there is something about them that just clicks for me as an audiobook. Whether it is experiencing the sense of adventure brought to life from the page, or nostalgic feelings of when my parents used to read me a bedtime story, I can’t say, but something about it just makes me feel warm and comforted.
Lexi Rees incorporates her own love of sailing and horse riding across the Relic Hunter series, and her passion for these activities really shines through.
Once again, Chris Devon brings the characters alive beautifully, and I particularly loved his characterisation of Rahfi. Rahfi was a particular favourite of mine when I was reading Wild Skies, and Chris just seemed to capture his essence perfectly.
I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment of the Relic Hunters adventures and know that I will be both reading and listening to it.

Fantastic fantasy adventure for children + adults!
I had previously read this book and was interested to listen to how the narrator interpreted and portrayed to characters and story. It is a fascinating tale in either format and I enjoy listening to it, even though I still remember well what happens in the story. The narrator, Chris Devon, uses their expressive voice well to engage the listener, using different tones to portray the different characters, making it seem like you're listening to more than one person acting out the events. The use of chapters makes it easy to choose a point at which to pause listening and the story is such that it is equally easy to pick up what is happening again when you restart listening again.
Here is my original review of the book, amended after listening to the audio version of it:
This is an action packed fantasy adventure written for children but equally enjoyable for adults. It centres around the search for relics which are key to restoring balance and defeating evil in the world. After reading the first book in this series - and listening to the audiobook version of it - I couldn't wait to read and later listen to this second book in this series, and it was just as enthralling an adventure!
As Finn, Aria and Pippin set out to find the next relic they'll encounter some double dealing, learn that not everyone is just what they seem and find a new friend whilst still trying to evade Sir Waldred and his minions. It is another great adventure, with casualties along the way, dangerous journeys through unfriendly territories and even a demon!
This is a great read and listen, with relatable characters, none of whom are perfect! Everyone makes mistakes but Pippin being into everything, accident prone and not recognising the usual constraints regarding property of others, is definitely more likely to inadvertently make mistakes than any of the others. How the others react to these mistakes, their interactions, insights and experiences all add together to make this a fascinating story and enjoyable story to read or listen to. I can't wait to discover the next books in this series!
Thank you for my copy of this audiobook which I voluntarily listened to and have honestly reviewed.

Vivid characters and a great adventure storyline
The second book in the Relic Hunters series takes Finn and Aria, and some new friends, on a quest to find the air relic. Aria needs to hone her powers and rally her clan to achieve this aim. Careful world-building peppered with adrenaline-fueled action scenes take the children to the farthest reaches of the world. Their enemies are many, and a dangerous pact threatens to thwart their quest. Who can they trust? Will they succeed?
This story makes a wonderful audiobook. The narrator brings the characters and the adventures to life. Having read the book it is lovely to hear a professional narrator voice the characters making them distinctive and memorable. This is a perfect listen for older children who like adventure stories and the chance to let their imaginations wander.
The concepts of right and wrong, good versus evil and brave children will appeal to adults too, I enjoyed this part of the adventure and found the easy listening style immersive, and the characters relatable.
Although the adventure is complete, and this story can be listened to as a standalone, the overall quest is interesting, and I suggest you listen to Eternal Seas, the start of the series, first.
