About this listen
The first time we met, it was an accident.
The second was the night my mother told me she was marrying his father. I didn’t know his name then, but I do now: Hayes Ambrose. Captain of the swim team. Popular, gorgeous, the guy every girl wants, with a smile that’s hiding a million secrets.
In the beginning I was certain we would become fast friends, until the day I heard a conversation that I was never supposed to hear. Overnight he became my worst nightmare, my bully. He’ll do anything to keep me quiet, and I’ll do anything to discover the truth. Until the truth is revealed and I realize it’s far more terrifying than I ever expected.

Not for me
I have no words for this and not in a good way. A lot of people critique the relationship between the MCs but I understood that to an extent. It was the story that fell short for me. The ending was rushed and there wasn't much of a plot at all. The characters were also annoying at time. Sorry 😬

Enjoyable but nothing new
Fantastic narrative but the storyline was quite boring. The twist at the end was good though. Main characters had no chemistry.

okeish
Did not finished the book... I found him abusive and her annoying. There was no depth to their 'love'.
I usually inhale books, but this one I kept avoiding.

Good story
I enjoyed the story and found it interesting but not captivating, I didn’t expect the ending that was a real twist to the story, but I’m glad it all worked out well in the end. Great narration

Interesting
I feel like there were a lot of hypocrisies, that Hayes was allowed to get away with but other characters were shunned. When okay fair, he was really going through it but also why does that mean its all okay for him to basically do all the same things. Found it super baffling. I also guessed the twist as soon as they had their first interaction that MC saw. Love the narrator. It was okay, worth a listen for sure.

Aggressive immature men are not sexy
SPOILER
Maybe I'm getting old, but the way haze acts in the majority of this book is pretty troubling. He basically rapes her. He never apologises, it's never addressed in the book. He pushes and pushes her to the limits and is rough with her, which can be sexy, if it isn't done by a little immature boy who doesn't understand boundaries. The twist at the end caught me off guard, but I am very glad this was free. Below average book. The narrator was awful aswell.
