So many good things in this series, I am totally hooked. This story had me from the first chapter. Yes, I am an 80's child and I am familiar with Boston, so listening to this made it all the more fun! Karen Grey masterfully hooks me into the story with a DJ clip at the beginning of each chapter. Playing on nostalgia, I get a warm feeling each time I hear one! We meet Jessica as she is turning thirty, losing her job and having difficulty finding acting jobs. That in between stage of being the catch of the day or playing the mom is niggling at her and she does not want to lose her youth. One night, she calls into the local radio station to answer a contest, and here her life is about to change. We meet Cal, the DJ and the two hit it off. Nightly phone calls for these two lonely people lead something of a relationship. But when they meet, will it all change? Both scarred in different ways will challenge their confidence, but we can only hope love will prevail. With loving family around both, and Cal's misfit pets, the story is full of love and humor with a thread of relevance that makes it very realistic. And I absolutely loved the Karen White reference in the one DJ clip! Karen Grey has another hit on her hands with this one!

Narration by Vanessa Edwin and Eric Michael Summerer is spot on! It could not have been cast better. Edwin plays Jessica with an emotional edge. She is true to the character and creates her so she is a person we can relate to. Summerer had me with his first clip. I was laughing and enjoying each one. Then he gives us Cal with the hurt and fear is laced in his voice. And the change as love took over with the two just emulates how good their performance is. This is a must listen!

This series is so much fun! You Spin Me could be read as a stand alone since there's not a lot of interaction with the main characters of the previous books in the series, but if you remember the late 80s the whole audiobook series is worth your time. I love "visiting" the era before cell phones and music on demand (as long as I can just close the Audible app on my phone and return to current technology). You Spin me is relatively low angst but not superficial. It's my favorite book of the series.

I highly recommend listening to the audio version. Vanessa Edwin has an excellent range of character voices including men and children, and Eric Michael Summerer has a great DJ voice (actually several great DJ voices).

This is an 80s retro story; having not been alive in the 80s, I cannot tell you if the setting and aspects of the time period is accurate. However, it all sounded fun and I enjoyed it!

The book is about Jess (a former ballet dancer, turned working actress) and Cal (a radio show host). They go from strangers, to friends, to lovers, all through meeting and getting to know each other after Jess calls in on Cal’s radio show.

The emotions in this book, excellent! The characters, excellent! The storyline, excellent! The pacing, excellent! The writing, excellent! The romance aspects (which is kinda slow burn), excellent! The dance rep (as a former dancer myself), also excellent! Basically, if you couldn’t already tell, I thought this book was EXCELLENT!

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and the narration was so good! Especially the beginning of each chapter with the radio spot intros.

All in all, an enjoyable experience! 5 Stars!

Sometimes the scars that you can't see are the deepest. Cal is been hiding from the world as a DJ in a radio station not letting anyone to close to see his ugly body. Can a brivant and beautiful woman make him take a leap of faith and uncover himself or will her scars be the ones to broke them? a beautiful story about trust, self conciouness, and true love. The narrators are spectaular and bring to life a really good story. You will cry and you laugh but you will sure enjoy it.
