Summary
Penguin presents the audio edition of Your No Guilt Pregnancy Plan written and read by Rebecca Schiller.
Your No Guilt Pregnancy Plan is a revolutionary new guide to pregnancy and childbirth that puts the power firmly in your hands. It won't tell you what fruit your baby resembles week-by-week, but it will cover the huge shifts happening in your relationships, body, work and emotional life right now, giving you practical tools, tips and real stories to help you make a plan that is uniquely yours yet flexible enough to accommodate whatever your pregnancy, birth and life throw at you.
With so many decisions to make and so much conflicting advice from the internet, friends, healthcare professionals and in-laws, it's easy to feel overwhelmed during pregnancy. Throughout her career as CEO of Birthrights, the charity that promotes women's rights in childbirth, parenting journalist, and one of the UK's best known doulas, Rebecca Schiller has supported countless women through pregnancy, helping them to find the solutions that are right for them and their families. And she has discovered that whilst a stress-free pregnancy might not always be possible, a guilt-free one certainly is.
Packed full of unbiased information, helpful illustrations and a firm focus on your mental health and wellbeing, this is the definitive no-judgement companion to your pregnancy and birth, laying out all your options at every stage - from conception, to maternity leave and coping with labour, right through to your first weeks at home with your newborn. Full of Rebecca's characteristic warmth, reassurance and expertise, this book covers the topics that really matter in your life, equipping you with the knowledge and confidence to be your own expert, take care of yourself, know when to ask for help and have your baby your way.
'I wish there'd been a book like this when I was pregnant. It almost makes me want to have another child. Almost' Bryony Gordon
'The book has everything a pregnant woman needs ... I'm sure this will be the go-to book for women in years to come' - Helen Thorn host of the Scummy Mummies podcast
'Rebecca is a living, breathing Wonder Woman heroine. In a sea of complicated, important and sometimes angry debate around childbirth, she is a mast to hold onto.' - Cherry Healey, presenter and author of Letters to My Fanny

if you only read 1 book......
If you only read 1 book about being pregnant, giving birth & the immediate aftermath make this one. No bull, no preaching, no judgement. Just solid, evidence based information. Wish I had this 1st time round, I would have felt much better prepared & informed.

Lovely, informative and soothing
Great listen for expecting mums. But let me strongly advise that you make copious use of the bookmark and notes function from the start. As is a common problem with Audible, it is hard to go back as app chapters don't match with book chapter. Last chapter of book helpfully summarises where to find key info but you still have to search a bit for the right chapter.

straight forward advice relevant to British woman
brilliant book with lots of helpful advice.
I did feel like I needed a doula by the end of it though which is not practical unless you're rich.
but lots of helpful advice & information i didn't know about to enhance my choices on giving birth.

Just what I needed
I’m expecting my first baby in 20 weeks and to put it quite frankly I’m terrified but this book has already opened my eyes to lots of options available to me and given me things that I would like to research further. Will definitely re read the birth section and feeding section again.

If you should get one pregnancy book, get this one
It's a pity I cannot give this book more stars as it totally deserves millions of it. I've already started reading a few books about pregnancy and even though they were far from bad, they certainly did not fulfill all my expectations. This book did it. It's full of very practical and useful information, it is very well organised, but what I absolutely LOVE about it is its positive, non-judgemental tone. It offers various approaches to pregnancy, delivery and childcare, lists pros and cons of each, but presents all of them as equal choices, each one right and useful in different circumstances for different people. Also, this book is highly inclusive. It takes into account people with mental health problems, disabilities, it does not assume a pregnant woman has to have a partner or that the partner has to be male. It also lets women speak for themselves and we can read about many varied real-life experiences of different women. All in all, this book provides a very coherent and complex view of pregnancy, birth and childcare and I strongly believe it is an excellent choice for any mother-to-be or simply anyone interested in the topic. I really wish this book gets adapted for as many countries as possible because I am yet to see its equal.

great, empowering book!
Even though this is my second time being pregnant I found the information SO helpful and empowering. I went from feeling anxious and lost to excited about birth and being a mum again. I've started forming a plan of action and have bookmarked stacks of the book to go back to when I need it.
A MUST have for anyone thinking about getting pregnant ❤️

No preaching guide to pregnancy
Rebecca Schiller guides you through pregnancy, birth and the weeks that follow with a no-nonsense approach that puts you at the centre. She encourages you to make your own choices and birth plan to suit you and your pregnancy. The book is also filled with pregnancy and birthing experiences from a range of women which help inform you about lots of things that may or may not happen during the process. She also links to lots of information on her website, which you should go check out if you or your partner is expecting. An empowering and educating read.
