Summary
A god-king disguised as a criminal defense lawyer...
Zeus/Zane, king of the Greek gods, holds the world in his palm in both his mortal and godly form...until Hera leaves him, forcing him to uphold Gaea's clause: There must always be a queen, or he loses his title and part of his power along with it. Time is short. Too bad the one woman he has his sights on wants nothing to do with him. Or does she?
An empath criminal prosecutor...
There's nothing Keira Bazin dislikes more than defense lawyers. So when she discovers Zane Vronti, one of New York's finest, has been brought in on her newest murder case, it's anything but good news. Tensions flare as the two immediately butt heads, but there's something about Zane she can't put her finger on. His emotions are the strongest she's ever felt—borderline overwhelming. Power. Lust. Command. Can she fight her growing attraction for him? Does she want to?
This is the last book in the Contemporary Mythos series. Though all can be listened to as a stand-alone, there are Easter eggs for those who listened in order as books intersect.

Wonderful addition to the series
What a brilliant story. Zues is everthing you would expect him to be cocky, arragont and sexy as all get out. When the story started I found very little to like about Zues's character, but that changed. Keira hates defence lawyers and guess who she she is against in court Zane (Zeus)
Zeus knows what he wants Keira the only woman immune to his godly charisma. This is a great series. I can't recommend it enough.
The duel narration is perfect

Zeus
Yes this book is part of a series, however each book can be read as a standalone. I’ve listend to book one, Hades, and this one. I was not lost in the slightest for not reading or listening to the others.
Zane/Zeus is in quite the predicament in needing to find a new queen. However, he’s searching for something a bit more. Then he falls for the opposing counsel and things really start to heat up. Kiara is a prosecuting attorney that can’t stand defense lawyers, until she meets Zane. Both characters really grow and mature throughout this book, and the dual narrative is spot on. Stella and Thomas really do make a dynamic team. If you enjoy the Mythical Greek Gods then definitely listen to this one.

Wow loved
The dual narration of Stella Bloom and Thomas Locklear, could not be any more perfect. Brilliant.
Kiera is a prosecuting attorney who wins all her cases . Her dislike for defence lawyers is strong and Zane Vronti is one that she really detests. When he shows up as the defence attorney for a case she is prosecuting , she knows she's going to have to give her best performance.
Zane is actually Zeus, not just a god but the King of the gods and he has a problem. His wife, Queen Hera, left him and he has a short time to find a new queen, or he will lose some of his powers.
I was laughing , I was shouting NO and Oh sweet lord . This book has it . The heat , the humour , action. LOVED

Steamy
Just give me a minute to cool down... did someone turn up the heat cos this book is STEAMY!
This is my first time of trying a Greek God based story and I've now got the bug for them. I loved the greek god back story with a modern day twist. Criminal Defense Attorney Zane aka Zeus is in need of a new Queen to help him keep his place as king of the gods and he's got his sights set on Kiera who happens to be the lawyer his client is going up against in court.
These 2 together are fire! Kiera is feisty and doesn't take any of Zanes crap yet the chemistry between them is off the charts. You can feel the pull between them. I really liked the direction the story took with the mythology story it made a refreshing change to read a story like this. The characters were great I really like Olivia she was a hoot and her quick witted comments had me in stitches.
The narrators did an amazing job with portraying Zane and Kiera. Thomas Locklear has this brilliant growly quality to his voice that just screamed dominance and was great for Zeus. I really liked that the story was told in dual perspective and the narrators kept in their character during the others narration rather than trying to imitate how they would sound. I would definitely listen to the rest of this series if it was with these narrators.
This is the 6th installment in the series but it can be read as a standalone.
A really good story and fantastic narration

Another great story from this series
I've been waiting for Zeus' story since I started the series and he was more arrogant than I imagined, lol.
Zane is working as a defence lawyer, using his powers to help, but this has left him so arrogant and with such high self confidence that I struggled to like him in the beginning. Kira is an empath working as a prosecutor, also using her unique powers to help, but she has a conscious. There's an instant attraction but Kira is determined to resist, but even she can only last so long.
So it took me most of the book to start to like Zeus, but I loved Kira from the start and her best friend Olivia was my favourite character.
Zane starts to realise that his business deal with Kira could be something more, but due to his previous actions he has a huge job ahead of him to prove it to her - but it was entertaining to see him try. He never looses his arrogance but he does show more of an understanding for others and it was good to see him in a different light at the end.
I liked the appearance of the other gods, even more so after reading about some of them in previous books in the series.
The ending is fitting for the characters and ties up their story nicely.
The narrators, Thomas Locklear and Stella Bloom did a brilliant job and I love the duel narration, it really helped me get into the story by having the same voices play the same parts. I would definitely listen to books narrated by them again.
