About this listen

Chris is your friendly neighborhood zombie. He has desires and hungers just like the rest of the undead, which is convenient since his brother, Spencer, is the village mortician. There's just one problem: Spencer has met a girl. There's no winning for Chris. If things go well with the girl, Spencer is going to neglect him. If things go poorly, the consequences could be very far reaching. What's a zombie to do?

The narration was good (not great, not terrible) to the point where I would certainly recommend the audio over simply grabbing this as an eBook via Kindle Unlimited. The storyline however fell short in my opinion. It had all the right ingredients but just didn't deliver. I cared about some of the characters, but it felt like there was a lot of potential gone to waste. If it had been just a few chapters longer (polished the pace and added a little more subplot) this would have been a five. As it is, it just didn't get there.

Think of this as more of a snack than a main meal.

An unique zombie book with a strange twist. I liked Raven, she was different and not willing to bow to small town values, and it seems like a perfect match when she meets Spencer, but he's got secrets and plans. I loved Chris the zombie, he spent his whole life protecting his brother Spencer 'til it gets him killed, even as a zombie he spends his time worrying about Spencer and his plans. I loved this book, it was different and I felt that Chris the zombie was the hero of the story!

Chris the zombie rules!
