About this listen
Capri Richardson has a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is a licensed professional counselor associate, supervised by Angela Bulls LPC-S. She earned her bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in Dance from the University of Montana, where she excelled as a member of the Women’s Volleyball Team, garnering accolades such as Big-Sky Player of the Week and Second Team All-Big Sky. Following her collegiate and professional volleyball career in Europe, Capri transitioned to coaching travel club volleyball and gained experience in mental health arenas, including work with children on the autism spectrum and clients with eating disorders. Combining her passion for athletics and counseling, Capri has most recently worked with Baylor Athletics, Austin Independent School District, Dallas College Athletics, and Bell County Juvenile Services. She operates her virtual private practice, First Contact Athletic Counseling PLLC in Austin, TX, where she provides athletes, coaches, and their families a space for their inner selves to become stronger and more resilient. By integrating her athletic experience & counseling knowledge, she aims to assist clients in discovering coping skills, processing trauma, and nurturing the holistic well-being necessary for on and off the court/field.
