Exploring more of the world of fascinating Guests, Health, Human Nature, Music / Movies, Mysterious, Politics, Social Issues, and much more
Terry Brinston, CEO of the Nurturing Wellness Group Foundation, shares her insights about the critical shortage of school nurses and the mental health crisis facing students today. We explore how technology addiction, lack of moral foundations, and diminished community connections are creating unprecedented challenges for young people.
    • Only about 35% of schools have dedicated nurses on staff
    • Many medical responsibilities fall to untrained administrative staff
    • Students today face more health issues than previous generations including asthma, diabetes, and allergies
    • Phone addiction in schools is creating serious attention problems and social isolation
    • The "my truth" perspective has eroded shared values and made it difficult to establish boundaries
    • Young people struggle with resilience and giving up too easily when faced with challenges
    • Small acts of kindness benefit both the giver and receiver's mental health
    • Building community connections and practicing gratitude can help combat isolation
    • Teaching young people to volunteer helps develop empathy and appreciation

CTP (S3EJunSpecial5) Brush Fires: How God Uses Our Past to Light the Way
The journey from worldly success to spiritual joy requires discovering your God-given purpose and embracing your unique design—including past traumas and experiences—to serve others effectively.
    • God desires relationship over religion, inviting partnership rather than demanding robotic obedience
    • Free will is central to faith—God respects our choices even when we make poor ones
    • Every person has a unique purpose statement as distinctive as DNA or fingerprints
    • Past struggles and traumas can become your most powerful ministry tools when redeemed
    • True joy comes from using your God-given gifts in alignment with His purpose, not from success alone
    • Brush Fires Ministry helps people discover their unique calling through assessments and workshops
    • Our actions should flow from willing hearts rather than compulsion or force

We break from our normal Saturday monologue to re-air the Life Walk 2024 discussion to promote the upcoming Life Walk 2025 event happening on June 21st, 2025 in southeast Michigan (and on other dates in other States).

    • Upper Downriver Michigan Right to Life hosts annual Life Walk events dating back to the 1980s
    • Life Walks raise funds for pro-life educational materials, billboards, newsletters, and community outreach
    • Registered participants receive commemorative shirts and "passports" that get stamped at each stop
    • The event welcomes families and individuals of all ages and includes a post-walk potluck
    • Resource Centers (formerly Crisis Pregnancy Centers) provide practical support for mothers and families
    • Pro-life advocacy extends from conception to natural death, including opposition to assisted suicide
    • Life Walks create community for pro-life advocates who may feel isolated by media narratives

Join us for the Life Walk on June 21st, 2025 at Bishop Park in Wyandotte, Michigan. Registration begins at 9am. Can't walk? Join us for the potluck afterward! Visit udmi-rtl.org/news for details and registration information.
