ASH AND ROB: THE TRAIN

Ash’s dream guy gets on her train every day and she’s obsessed. Everyone in her office knows about ‘Train Guy’. So, when her work bestie, Fran, sees someone referencing the ‘girl with the green coat’ in the newspaper’s ‘Crush Hour’ feature, she’s pretty sure that Train Guy feels the same about Ash. But there’s a lot of ‘train guys’ and a lot of girls in green coats in London.

JONNY AND JAY: THE TAXI

Jay’s lost somewhere between Kings Cross and Bloomsbury trying to get to a University Interview after his train was delayed. He calls an Uber, worried he’ll be late, (being late just doesn’t happen to Jay). However, when it turns up, with a tipsy Jonny inside, he realises the journey isn’t going to do much to calm his nerves.

LOLA AND JOEL: THE TUBE

Lola’s been made redundant and only six people came to her leaving do. There was a lot of booze. Now she’s on the night tube, feeling queasy and trying to place the face of a man in her carriage – where does she know him from? Joel has been working late again and the only thing he’s thinking about is sleep. Until a woman on his carriage is sick everywhere – where does he know her from? In this hazy, nighttime episode, we hear the inner monologues of two people who know that talking to anyone on the tube is a cardinal sin, but tonight they are going to have to break the rules.

EMMA AND BEN: THE BUS

Ben’s on his first late shift driving a London bus, but with so many big dreams, it’s hard to focus, and remember to actually stop to pick up passengers. At the end of the shift, with his bus driving career already on thin ice, he realises he’s left a passenger sleeping on the top deck. Emma’s exhausted from pushing herself too hard in her new job and when she wakes up to the bus driver offering to drive her home, she’s not in the mood for making friends – she’ll have time for that once she’s conquered the world.

FRAN AND PILAR: THE BIKES

Fran is running late on her way to a date she could take or leave, thanks to having to listen to Ash stressing about her relationship with ‘Rob the Train guy’. A Citi bike is the only way she’s going to make it on time – except she’s not very good at cycling. Pilar is wobbling her way up to Haringey Green Lanes on another rental bike to look round yet another room for rent. Unable to work the bike docking station, she calls on fellow cyclist Fran to help her, and they embark on a new journey together.

MARTIN AND DEBBIE: KINGS CROSS STATION

For far too long, Martin has been resting on his laurels and not giving himself, or his relationship with Debbie the attention they deserve. So as a surprise for Debbie, and with help of his niece Emma, he has arranged for them to renew their vows in front of all their friends and family (or whoever can make it to St Pancras at very short notice on Christmas Eve). Ash and Fran are meant to be going, but after admitting to Ash how much Pilar means to her, Fran decides to jump on a bike to find Pilar and ask her not to go back to Spain. On a last-minute Christmas shopping trip, Angus helps Rob to realise what he really wants and Rob races to St Pancras to try and catch Ash. However, when Martin’s vow renewal is cut short by a bike accident and an angry security guard, Ash is nowhere to be seen.

But there’s Christmas magic in the air, so maybe there’s still a chance for Ash and Rob....
