About this listen

We enter the Magic Lab, where science and magic meets. We explore how the brain is prey to a whole range of cognitive defaults and errors which impair our ability to make choices which are in our best interests. Derren reveals the mistakes our brains make, but also identifies ways to avoid them – including the cunning Decoy Effect, which causes excessive popcorn consumption.

I really like Derren, I could not resist the opportunity to learn from the expert of the human behaviour. I was expecting something more in depth but as a 30 minute episode, this is really well done. Let's say that it is a good intro to topics worth paying attention to.

I really enjoyed this discussion around the choices we all make and how they can be so easily influenced. I feel better equipped to resist making bad choices having listened intently to this episode.

Very interesting and informative

So useful for my work providing psychoeducational therapy to women who have experienced trauma. Links to the research studies would be KaMaZiNg if at all possible and thanks for making this accessible to all by being free. I know my clients will find it incredibly helpful, and so do I.

Amazing
