It’s very jarring…..when the narrator feels the need….to pause dramatically……..all the time……

This is a compelling story which gets into the weeds of 4Chan+ and explains in depth how those sites work(ed) for those of us who haven’t had the pleasure of frequenting them. However, Woolf’s edgelord apologist enthusiasm for the Chans is alarming and hard to listen to at times.

I would be interested to finish this but there’s a woman on there who speaks so fast it’s as if you’ve accidentally pressed the speed 2x button and the guys voice is draining.

The narrators are hard to listen to

the story is interesting but the approach the author takes is juvenille and embarassing at best. many journalists underline that it is irrellevant who is Q and they are correct. the escalation was the fault of the community that encouraged and enabled the worst in each other, not one individual who happened to get popular. The community of neonazis and pedos, oh, and of course, the edgy boys who think this is *funny*. Yet somehow, the author does not hide his fascination with this community, even admits to being part of it once upon time. So yea, no wonder he decided to explore bullshit 8chan/4chan/Q mythology, instead of searching for mechanisms that allowed Q get so popular. grow up man, you are a journalist but think like an angey teen trying to feel special🙄
