This really gave me the ick. The author/narrator is clearly very enamoured by and deferential to the archaic and elitist British public school education system which underpins class issues that are still deeply entrenched in society. Patronising doesn't begin to describe the tone; by the first hour the narrator has already made considerable and relatively offensive assumptions about the intellect and views of the listener. All this isnt helped by the way that she seems to relish any chance to assert her scholarly prowess 🤢 If you did a shot for every reference she makes to having attended Oxford or her love of poetry, you would be dead by episode 3.

Conceited

Too highbrow for my personal taste. Intellectual jousting and interpretation of intellectual jousting from an intellectual jouster. Couldn’t get into it. Each to their own but this didn’t engage me either on an intellectual basis or as entertainment.

Not my cup of tea
