Interesting but frustrating! Why was Lily never advised to contact or meet the stalker? (In a safe environment obviously.) Surely if he’d been forced to see her “in real life” then his fantasy would have been shattered. All those years of ignoring him clearly did not work and were torture for her.

Why not face him head on?

Not what I thought it was going to be but absolutely brilliant. I binged it one evening rather than going to sleep!

Excellent podcast that mixes art and a real life story. I very much enjoyed this fresh take on how to tell a story in this medium.

Artistic podcast

I, like the other reviewer couldn't help wondering why Lily didn't take more control early on. I also didn't know when X was speaking, whether they were emails or voicemails. I also didn't know if she knew what he looked like or if she'd actually met him. A bit muddled in parts but absolutely horrific that it went on for so long & that the law wasn't on her side. A living nightmare.

Lily Baldwin bears her soul, and reveals the deep and dark devastation that stalking can cause. A harrowing tale from an inspirational woman taking her life back, even though the legal system grossly neglects her.
I truly hope she has a fulfilling and passionate future as free of fear as possible.

Harrowing, yet inspiring!

Really found this interesting but also horrifying. I hope the author enjoys the rest of her life after everything she’s endured since 2009.

The psychologist speaking about how this type of stalker simply won’t listen to reason really drove home the point of how awful this kind of situation is for the victim. Congratulations for speaking up so strongly.

Excellent insight into the corrosive impact of stalking

Not over-dramatised. Enough scripted inserts to keep it story-like without over-doing it. Eye-opener in terms of how a narcissist can effectively assert control over his subject. Dangerous yet prevalent. Would recommend.

Excellent podcast on the often silent war against stalking. Laws need to change to see this as the life changing violence that it is.

Such a strong lady

This series is well written (dialogue is amazing actually) the story is all too familiar. This won has been through hell but has managed to win. I hope you keep winning and maybe delve into the laws around stalking and mental health so that you can initiate change.

Amazing woman

Genuinely intriguing subject matter. But while nobody deserves this ordeal, I ended up just so frustrated with her it was hard to maintain any compassion for the author. The story would have been so much better if she had written it straight, with the events foregrounded and the legal and psychological expertise put to good use. Instead it's an xoJane-style self-romanticising confessional, an ego-vehicle in which she lionises herself and reduces every other character to either a two-dimensional acolyte or evil persecutor. This woman is her own Mary Sue and it's very annoying to listen to. On top of that, the writing itself. I don't know who Lily Baldwin is and she may have many talents but prose is not one of them. I'm probably a horrible person for saying so but the deranged stalker in his letters and emails is a better writer than she is.

ego getting in the way
