Behind the mullet and over-the-top persona was a man consumed by narcissism and an insatiable need for control. He exploited/abused/killed exotic animals for profit, crossbred big cats, and subjected countless innocent creatures to horrific conditions. And Joe’s reign of chaos didn’t stop with animals, as his disastrous personal life mirrored his empire: riddled with fraud, fueled by toxic love triangles that veered into perversion, and propped up by desperate grabs for power at any cost. At the heart of it all was Joe’s obsession with fame and dominance - he used anyone, anything, to feed his ego. Because in reality, the so-called “Tiger King” wasn’t a ruler; he was a reckless, delusional clown whose need for control led him to exploit, destroy, and ultimately self-destruct. • EP130: Greyhound Bus Beheading
    Jun 18 2025
Join our Patreon family to guest co-host with Investigator Slater! Also gain exclusive access to BTS, bonus episodes, a private group chat, merch discounts, and much more! www.Patreon.com/PsychopediaPod This was one of the most shocking crimes in Canadian history—a scene so gruesome it sounded like urban legend. On a Greyhound bus traveling through the open stretch of Manitoba in July 2008, 22-year-old Tim McLean sat quietly listening to music, unaware that the man who had just boarded would become his killer. Without warning, fellow passenger Vince Li pulled out a large knife and, in front of horrified passengers, stabbed Tim repeatedly in the neck before decapitating him and holding up his severed head for all to see. As passengers fled in terror and police surrounded the bus, Li remained inside, mutilating the body and consuming parts of it. The attack was as brutal as it was senseless—and what came next ignited nationwide outrage: Vince Li was found not criminally responsible due to mental illness and later granted absolute freedom. The fallout would challenge Canada's legal system, public safety policies, and the very definition of justice. I saw this title and the two hosts and I admit that I thought oh this is a 'Joe Rogan does true crime' right wing podcast. I was ABSOLUTELY proved wrong almost instantly as the intelligently researched crime stories, expertly delivered by investigator Slater and interjected with thoughtful, considered and empathetic remarks from the admittedly 'jacked' Tank Sinatra. That's not to say there isn't humour and 'in jokes' that when you know, you know. Tanks love of hip hop and obviously meme culture comes through in the episodes. Brooke Slater (an actual investigator in her day job working with human trafficking among other things) has a real knack for researching all the key elements of a case and humanising victims as well as her 'pop quizzes' that she posits to Tank and the listener which is a novel feature i personally love. overall an excellent True Crime podcast that only gets better as it goes on and I think will shine through as one of the top of it's genre. Crimedy Chaos Completed supremely.

It is a doozy, great true crime comedy cohorts.
