If there was a huge asteroid hurtling toward Earth threatening to destroy life as we know it and you could see one more show before you die, what would it be? It can be anything you want - a show you’ve seen before, one that you wish you’d seen, or something you’ve made up entirely. What would be YOUR Last Show on Earth? This is the podcast in which we ask a special guest the big, BIG question that nobody ever needed (or indeed) bothered to ask.

Our penultimate guest this season is Sam Wilmott

Now unless you are an Instagram carpentry fan then you may not know who Sam is but you’ll very likely have seen some of his work as he has appeared in many West End shows including War Horse, Oliver, Wicked, Stomp and Lord of the Rings the musical and films like Nowhere Boy and the Harry Potter movie series

He gave up on his varied acting career of nearly 25 years to pursue his passion for carpentry and now has way over a quarter of a million followers on his Instagram under the username @monkeyboysworkshop. Go check him out!

Welcome back to a brand new season of The Last Show on Earth!!

Our guest this episode is Philip Quast

To theatre fans, Philip Quast needs no introduction, but here’s one anyway. He is a multi award winning and hugely influential hero to many musical actors – ourselves included – and has graced stage and screen for nearly 5 decades. During this time he has won Mo Awards, Helpmann Awards, three Olivier Awards and was appointed Member of the Order of Australia in 2022 for significant services to the arts. Most musical fans first heard of him when he played Javert in the 10th Anniversary concert and ever since then, seeing his name on a cast list is enough to make any theatre fan go weak at the knees!

Our guest this episode is Norm Lewis

Norm is known primarily for being the first black actor to play the Phantom on Broadway and for playing Inspector Javert in the 25th anniversary Les Miz concert but he’s done way way more than just those two roles, including screen appearances in Scandal, Law and Order, Blue Bloods, Sex and the City, Da 5 Bloods, Gotham and leading theatre roles in Sweeney Todd, Jesus Christ Superstar, Ragtime, Tommy, Side Show, The Wild Party, The Little Mermaid and Porgy and Bess for which he received a Tony nomination!

Apologies for the slightly annoying background noises (ie the humming noise and the clicks) but it was a hot day in New York and Norm had his aircon on during the recording session...Soz.

Welcome to another episode of The Last Show on Earth!

Our guest this time around is award winning playwright and director Terry Johnson.

Terry began his theatre career as an actor before becoming a dramatist and a director and has written many very successful plays including Hysteria, Insignificance, Unsuitable for Adults, Hitchcock Blonde, Prism and Dead Funny and has directed shows such as One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Death of a Salesman, Oh What A Lovely War and Uncle Vanya. He has also worked in television and film and has won numerous awards for his work including Evening Standard Awards, Critic’s Circle Awards, several Oliviers and he even bagged a Tony for Best Director in 2010 for La Cage Aux Folles!

His Last Show choice is unexpected and truly epic...

Our guests for our first episode this season are theatre power couple Michael Jibson and Caroline Sheen.

Posh and Becks. Will and Kate. Brangelina. Bennifer. And now Jibson and Sheen (Jibsheen?)

Their combined acting credits are too extensive to list here so you may want to look at their Wikipedia pages (links below) but in a nutshell they are both award winners, have done loads of theatre, TV and film and are married with one daughter.

In a first for this podcast we have two guests on one episode...Double the fun!

Enjoy the last shows (plural) of Mike Jibson and Caroline Sheen
