On this podcast, Simon Lim features the people involved in the upcoming theatre production called "YOUR HEART OF DARKNESS". Listen to Producer Phan Ming Yen; Dramaturg Aidli Mosbit; as well as Performers Lezan Ariffin, and Rosezeli Omar (both are ex-offenders who were trained in Changi Prison’s Theatre Art programme. Lezan and Rosezeli will be sharing actual real-life past experiences of incarceration).

This production is inspired by prompts from novelist Joseph Conrad’s famous novella, "Heart of Darkness", which explores the essence of human nature vis-à-vis the theme of civilisation, and how the level of civilisation is related to a physical and moral environment.

YOUR HEART OF DARKNESS :
- PRODUCER Phan Ming Yen. Ming Yen has been involved in Singapore’s arts scene for the past 30 years, wearing many hats - as independent producer, writer and researcher, even as a music critic, journalist and arts manager.

- DRAMATURG Aidli Mosbit. Aidli is the Recipient of the Young Artist Award for Theatre in 2008. She is currently Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Transcultural Studies in Temasek Polytechnic. Aidli is married to Performer Lezan Ariffin.

- PERFORMER Lezan Ariffin. Lezan is currently the Head of Programmes for the drug recovery group, Goal Aspiration. Lezan is married to Dramaturg Aidli Mosbit.

- PERFORMER Rosezeli Omar. Rosezeli is the Founder of Goal Aspiration, the drug recovery group which helps ex-offenders in their recovery process.

- YOUR HEART OF DARKNESS" will take place at The Arts House, Play Den on Friday 15th of November 2024 (8pm-9pm).
