After learning that her father is still alive, Megan Wills embarks on a rescue journey with her newly adoptive sisters, Crystal and Zoe. Their destination is Beta Four, a frozen prison planet, where he was exiled because of a false charge of space piracy. Megan is constantly chased by Camille Fairbanks, the widow of Admiral Fairbanks, who blames her for his death and, for some unknown reason, wants to capture her father as well.

In previous stories, our heroes, Eddie and Samantha Hertz, faced earthquakes and hypnotized zombie-like people. What could be worse? Birds. Yes, birds. And lots of them. Eagles, hawks, owls, herons, and more. The villain Mephisto has hypnotized tens of thousands of them to do his evil bidding.

Branded as a pirate, collared like a dog, chained to a wall at night, and isolated as a prisoner on a journey to another planet, could the situation get any worse for thirteen-year-old Megan Willis? Much worse. Megan’s parents have been sentenced to death, and now she is speeding away through a space-fabric wormhole, unable to try to save them. Also, her ship’s captain frequently interrogates her about a mysterious gem called a dragon’s eye, and he delivers punishing shocks through her collar when she refuses to reveal its location.

The world is in chaos. Alex is sending powerful killing machines into Chicago to enforce her will, Reapers are being rounded up and executed, ghosts are everywhere with no one to collect them, and a cruel terrorist is strapping firebombs to children. Reapers Phoenix and Shanghai come into possession of a mirror that once teleported its bearers wherever they needed to go. Alex is obsessed with stealing it, but so far no one, not even a heavenly Sancta who joins the Reapers, knows how to get it to work.

After defeating Camille and Raven Fairbanks and freeing the Starborn children on Gamma Five, Megan Willis suffered a great loss. A transport beam disintegrated her father and sent him to a strange jungle planet called Delta Zero. Megan has to find him at all costs. Many barriers stand in her way. Phoenix and Shanghai find a holographic recording left behind by a fellow Reaper who was recently executed. The message leads them on a journey to learn the answer to a crucial question: Does the Gatekeeper, the tyrannical ruler of the world, consume energy from souls in order to maintain power and live for centuries?

The evil Mephisto is still on the prowl, and he hopes to bring the city of Nirvana to its knees by controlling its people with a hypnotizing gas. Now that Damocles, the great superhero, is gone, who can stop this villain? Eddie Hertz, a twelve-year-old genius, and his sister, an eight-year-old super-powered girl named Samantha, have a plan—lure Mephisto into a trap by using themselves and Eddie’s superhero invention as bait.

The fake angels have been vanquished, but the devastation they caused remains—a world in fear of anarchy and a deadly contagion that might soon sweep across every continent. The angels also opened the Oculus Gate, allowing entry of a new breed of aliens. These “Refectors” are taking over human bodies that were purged of their souls by the angels’ toxic vaccine.

The souls of Leo and Iona are trapped in hell, their bodies inhabited by the souls of Alex and her henchman Bartholomew. Now disguised as Iona, Alex launches her centuries-old plan to restore her power and take control of both Earth and Viridi. Unable to communicate with their allies, the real Leo and Iona embark on a journey, hoping to somehow break through hell’s impenetrable gates. Along the way, they meet a strange woman, a Reaper who believes she can help them escape.
