Ibn e Insha, real name Sher Muhammad Khan, born June 15, 1927, died on January 11, 1978, was a Leftist Urdu poet, humorist, travelogue writer, and columnist. He is regarded as one of the best humorists in Urdu. His writing has a distinctive diction laced with language reminiscent of Amir Khusro in its use of words and construction. He was associated with several governmental services including Radio Pakistan, Ministry of Culture, and National Book Centre of Pakistan.

Taaoos Chaman Ki Myna is an award-winning short story written by Naiyer Masud, an Urdu writer from Lucknow. The story is set in Lucknow during the mid-1800s. Wajid Ali Shah, the Nawab of Awadh, has a large cage full of beautiful mynahs in his garden in Qaisar Bagh. Kaley Khan is a poor employee in the Nawab's garden. The story follows the plight of Kaley Khan and his family, and specifically what happens when he steals one of the mynahs for his daughter, who has long been asking for one.

Asad Muhammad Khan was born in Bhopal, India, in 1932. He now lives in Karachi, has written a number of television plays, and published five collections of short stories to date. This collection includes the following stories: "Narbada", "Dastaan Sarae", "Shehr Koofay Ka Mehez Aik Aadmi", and "Toofaan Ke Markaz Me".
