A Penning Trouble Mystery

It's the last long weekend of the summer and former investigator-turned-journalist Penelope Trubble has returned to her hometown of Bohemian Lake to help her father with his newspaper and private eye businesses. With a contest prize of $10,000 on the line, the small town is more crowded than usual with summer vacationers on the hunt for a planted replica of the rare 1913 Liberty Head nickel that, according to local legend, was lost to Bohemian Lake over 50 years ago.

House flippers Jack and Juniper agree to lend and help prep their latest purchase - the Doctor's House, an old Victorian mansion - to act as the eerie setting for the town's Halloween bash. They're expecting to find missing floor boards and pesky bats, not the ghostly specter of the murdered doctor's wife. But when the head of the council is found stuffed in a trunk in the attic, it appears history is repeating.

It's the week before Christmas, and investigative journalist Penelope Trubble has reluctantly agreed to investigate the death of a woman at the Sleighs & Slopes Adventure Resort in the hopes of exonerating her husband - who just happens to be Penny's ex.

House flippers Jack and Juniper are planning to ring in the New Year slinging tapas, vino, and beer in an old Victorian mansion that they've transformed into Bohemian Lake's first inn and taproom, but the mansion's poltergeist is out to dash their merriment with mean-spirited sabotage. Having laid otherworldly rumors to rest before, Juniper is skeptical, but the alarms aren't going off. When the mischief turns deadly, Juniper calls in a part-time paranormal investigator but the man's discoveries leave her thinking that her problem is more personal than paranormal.

Fortune Teller Madam 'Nana' Vianu and her gifted Bohemian Lake girls, Mallory and Danior, have an unparalleled weekend planned for the guests of their family-owned-and-operated lakeside manor resort. Or so they think until a dead body is found at the bottom of the manor's secret staircase. Rumors abound of past indiscretions and a ghost's revenge. It could all be part of the show but as the weather worsens so do their chances for survival. Snowed in with a killer, the Vianu girls must use their paranormal gifts and follow the clues to decipher what is real in this game of make-believe.

Mallory Vianu is busy hosting a blogging conference at Caravan Manor when she hears back from a local historian who’s translated the 55-year-old diary she found in the attic, uncovering a valuable heirloom used by a Roma witch-wife to divine the future. Unfortunately, unlike her powerful relative, Mallory doesn’t see what’s coming next. The historian dies in her home, taking the whereabouts of the heirloom. To make things worse, one of the conference guests is murdered, and Detective Kaden Bones’ eyes are on Mallory.

When Bohemian Lake’s favorite house flippers Jack and Juniper agree to renovate café-owner Pike Hart’s newly inherited property - the old mill - they’re expecting to solve configuration issues, not cold cases. But with the previous owner, the ghostly Doctor Albert Downey, still in residence and connected to their own mysterious haunting, what choice do they have? The doctor convinces Juniper the only way he and his murdered bride Victoria - the ghost of the Gothic Inn - can move on is if Juniper solves the 100-year-old mystery of their murder-suicide.

Private investigator Penny Trubble is all for an island vacation, but warm sand and surf comes at a cost. Her friend, Danior Vianu, is spending the summer working at a relative’s paranormal resort in San Paolo, Brazil. There, the paranormal activity that is part of the resort's charm has gotten a bit too real for some. Several guests, including a personal acquaintance, have gone missing, and Danior wants Penny to find out why. What she finds is trouble.
