What's a spelled, violin-wielding thief-for-hire to do when parts of a poem that lead to a map to unknown treasure falls into her lap? Follow it, of course. After being shot while retrieving the first piece of the map, Finley knows she's going to need some help with the next piece. On the road to figuring out where the second piece of the map is, a tip points her in the direction of three men. Obsidian, the hamrammr, Stolas, the hellhound, and Verkor, the unseelie fae. Finley gets a little more than she bargained for when they meet.

Finley and her guys fought until the very end in the Winter Court of the Faerie Realm. They came away with the second piece of the map and left the Winter Court in better hands than when they arrived. After returning home, they received the next part of the poem, and where the third piece of the map is hidden. They have to travel through hell, literally, to get it. There's more than one surprise ready for them as Finley and her guys' journey through the nine levels of hell and into the very pits. A date with the devil is all she needs. Should be easy...right?

Going back home, to the Shifter Realm, is the last thing Obsidian wants to do. The only thing worse is talking about and confronting his past. Word spreads fast and it doesn't take long for Obsidian's past to walk right up to him. Breaker, Cain, and Jett, three of his biggest tormentors, are now in the highest position of power. Obsidian soon realizes that things haven't changed...they're worse. Finley and her mates arrive at a time when the residents are hiding and there are whispers that more is going on.

All the pieces of the map are finally collected and assembled. Finley and her mates are hoping for a peaceful and eventful journey. Of course, that doesn't happen. Finley gets an unexpected surprise in the form of her mother and father, who are still alive. All they want is to follow the map and find the treasure, but that's hard to do when Finley's parents keep popping up at inopportune times. At least the angels are leaving them alone . . . right? Now comes one of the biggest decisions of their lives: to rule or not to rule. Do they take the crown or run?
