How to Be a Necromancer

The latest in a long line of powerful necromancers, Vexa is just trying to live a normal life without starting a zombie apocalypse. But after 27 years of suppressing her powers, Vexa's secret catches up to her in the form of a strange candle, a relic of the days when her ancestors had complete power over life and death, and in a gorgeous man with a terrible curse – Ethan. As Vexa's life is thrown into chaos, Ethan is the only one who can help her control the candle and introduce her to a paranormal world she never knew existed.

Vexa’s life has always been a bit unconventional, but things have recently taken a sharp right toward the ridiculous. Aethon, her 600-year-old ancestor, has the candle. Vexa's power is bound to it and though she survived, no one knows when he'll show up again to try and break the bond. With the help of rival necromancer Cole, Vexa races to master the powers she's suppressed most of her life. Abrasive and enigmatic, Cole makes her heart race for more than one reason. But Ethan, the gorgeous werewolf who helped her defeat Aethon initially, is in trouble.

Since the events of her uncle’s wake, things have only grown more complicated for Vexa. The new, uneasy alliance with Gwydion has given her, Cole, and Ethan a tentative hope for a way to break the curse that is slowly turning Ethan into a monster. Unfortunately, that hope is quickly dashed when Gwydion's twin and opposite Gilfaethwy escapes and steals an artifact of incredible importance.

Vexa Tzarnavaras, funeral home assistant and amateur necromancer, is trapped within her own mind, isolated from everyone who cares about her, unable to help as Aethon, her 600-year-old power crazed ancestor, goes on a destructive rampage. Her lovers Ethan, the cursed werewolf, and Gwydion the exiled Unseelie Fae, worry for her; but only Cole, the once rival necromancer turned ally and lover, can reach her. But the intimacy of sharing minds, and the secrets he hides, makes him reluctant to give Vexa the support she needs.

Vexa has entered the endgame with her lich ancestor, Aethon Tzarnavarus, and the prize for winning is the ability to determine the fate of the world. Only, Aethon’s targeting her family and Cole’s, and it’s only a matter of time before he takes everyone that they love from them. Ethan’s life under the werewolf curse, Cole’s trepidatious but precious love, and Gwydion’s immortal existence are all at stake, and the community Vexa’s built, the family she’s chosen for herself, may fall apart whether she survives to beat Aethon at the death game or not.
