Cid, a seasoned city guard for the past 20 years, has traded in his sword for a fishing rod and a peaceful life as a farmer in the charming and cozy village of Haven. Surrounded by former battlemages and their families, Cid finds himself drawn into the local community's struggles and triumphs, including the occasional misuse of magic and a wee bit of revelry. With Maggie, the local tavern owner and love interest, by his side, Cid learns to appreciate the slower pace of village life and the joys of baking, cooking competitions, and marshalling the occasional scoundrel.

After two decades of keeping the peace as a city guard, Cid Dawnshield is ready for the quiet life. After trading his pension for a plot of land at Oak Tree Farm, he's ready for easy days, tending crops, and fishing out of the creek on the back of the property. But Haven isn't your typical farming village, and his rundown farm sits atop more than just fertile soil.

Six months into his retirement at Oak Tree Farm, former city guard Cid Dawnshield has settled into a comfortable routine of tending crops and serving as Haven's town constable. But when a group of oddly-dressed travelers arrives for the annual Harvest Fair, something about their story doesn't add up. Between judging the town's fiercely competitive blueberry cobbler contest and trying to wrangle his wandering chickens, Cid has to manage the threat from out of town who just want to the power beneath Haven's soil. All while impressing the tavern owner.

A lot has changed for Cid. A lot has happened. He has friends. A new home. A new family. Things lost and things gained. Precious things. But the best is yet to come. Cid is getting married.
