About this listen

Don't believe in love at first sight? He'll make you believe.... Come back to Vermont and to this USA Today best-selling series!

Skye Copeland is on paid leave from her broadcasting job after accidentally drawing a pecker on the traffic map. Let that sink in. Like it's her fault the traffic pattern that day created a perfect schlong?

Skye isn't laughing. She needs this job. And that's the only reason she's agreed to chase down a story in her least favorite place - that hell on earth known as Vermont. A quick trip. In and out. Much like - never mind.

Skye can sneak into the town that once tried to break her, get the story and get back into the good graces of her producer. Easy peasy. Except things go sideways even as she sets foot over the county line.

Her step-sister is on the run from a violent drug dealer. And the cop on the case is none other than Benito Rossi, the man who broke her teenage heart. His dark brown eyes still tear her apart. And even as she steels herself to finally tell him off after 12 years, the old fireworks are still there.

Things are about to go boom.

Second chance at love.

I honestly just believe that I LOVE every single book in this series and Fireworks was no different Because YES I adored Skye and Benito. There is a little bit of angst in this book and maybe for some people issues that may be difficult to read, especially if you can empathise with Skyes situation growing up. Benito and Skye have history they have known one another for a very long time in fact, they met on they day that Skye moved to their small town in Vermont. Skye didn't have a good home life she had a mother who didn't really care about anyone but herself and then her Mum's ex husband who was a Vile man..basically he was sex pest...and teenage Skye had to but up with his sleazy suggetsive threatening behaviour.Benito was Skyes safe haven he made her feel protected and they spend lots of time together. But thier friendship never went beyond anything else even though they are both attracted to one another,it never happened for them except for one unforgettable kiss. Events take place that has Skye fleeing from the town and going to live elsewhere leaving Benito heartbroken and breaking her own heart too, 12 years go by and Skye is back in Vermont..she is a journalist and is on a 2 week break from her job..because of an incident that suspends her. Vermont is the least place she want to go to but is promised there is a good story there that could save her career by her step sister. But she is led on a wild goose chase her sister disappears she is being hunted by a drug dealer, and Skye is led straight into Benito Rossi's line of fire once again,to find her sister. Benito Rossi is now an cop and is determined to take down the people who is running drugs in is town. The number one suspect is Skyes step dad and his goons.. He can't believe Skye is back in town she left one night without a trace no explanation and left him bereft, and he wants to know why. Benito and Skye's romance is a complicated one that spans many years, this book transfers between past and present so we understand what happens between them. The chemistry and need for one another is still so strong after years apart and when they get together it is explosive. I love Benito he was so patient and understanding as Skye has issues with sex and being intimate and he helps her slay those demons. Zachary Webber and Susannah Jones narrates this story and they are just MAGNIFICENT,their storytelling is just so smoothe and easy to listen to,I enjoyed every minute of hearing their voices. This book just captivated me there is some mystery and a bit of action as they try to take down the bad guys and find the missing sister. It will have you on the edge of your seat I was so surprised as the story unravelled as to what had actually occured between the teenage versions of Benito and Skye...All the years wasted because of lies and miscommunication. I was completely riveted with this book I loved it. Sarina Bowen just keeps knocking it out of the park with these books. I am addicted and in love with all the characters in these books and this small town in Vermont. Absolutely BRILLIANT. 5 Stars

good book

I enjoyed listening to this book although the heroine in this book with her shizzlesticks and special non swearing did get on my nerves a bit. susannah Jones's voice was a little shrill for me a little softer would have been much better. As for zachary webber/jacob morgan, that voice is perfection and my no.1 male narrator, he can make anything listenable. when you listen to these books they bring the whole thing alive. I really liked the story it isn't my usual trope but I can't knock it. The characters are very good, I loved the way they went back 12 years to bring you the how's and when's and who's to the characters which explained so many feelings of hurt, distrust and love between the main characters. loved Ben, he was hot and not enough sex or heat could have used a little more but overall I really enjoyed listening.🥰🥰

Likeable couple, but no fireworks

I love this series of books, but to me this is one of the weaker ones. After a teenage romance that went wrong, Skye and Benito are instantly back in love after a 12 year separation. It just seemed unrealistic, especially as Benito made no effort to find out if Skye was ok when she suddenly disappeared out of his life so many years previously. There was a really good side story about drug dealing and a crooked cop, but once this was over I lost interest, especially when the perfect job solution allows Skye to conveniently uproot her entire life to move in with Benito. This was a good listen compared to most other authors, but the rest in the series are a lot better.

The weaker one

I enjoyed the story but for me there was to much criminal stuff in the history.

Great book

Really enjoyed this - even more so because I’ve had a book slump with rubbish after rubbish lately. I was relieved to see Sarina Bowen had just released another book and hoped (correctly) it would end the bad run of books. Felt like I got to know the characters and was invested in the story, and sad when it ended. Let’s hope I can find another good book as my next read...

Great listen

First time I have chosen this author and it was because Zachary Webber was narrating. Believable characters, great storyline and never a dull moment. Thoroughly enjoyed the different ways the storyline changed and didn’t just focus on the 2 main characters. I would choose this author again.
