Summary
A swoony, heart-wrenching small-town romance from USA Today and Wall Street Journal best seller Sarina Bowen!
Leila:
What I meant to do: quietly divorce my lout of a husband and then have a child all on my own.
What happens instead: my crush comes back to town when I’m at my most vulnerable. After too many cocktails, I ask him to be my baby’s father.
In my defense, it’s been a rough couple of months. Seeing Matteo Rossi again after 14 years has done a number on my emotions. And my libido.
In the morning, I’m hoping he’s forgotten the whole thing. But no such luck. In fact, Matteo has a few clarifying questions. And a few naughty ideas, too....
Matteo:
What I meant to do: visit Vermont for my brother’s wedding. Make amends to my family, and mourn the loss of a friend.
What happens instead: a hot affair with the one who got away. But it can’t last. My life is 2,000 miles away, and Leila deserves everything. She’s as good as gold.

Loved this romcom from Sarina Bowen
There is a reason why Sarina Bowen is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors. That reason? She's just freakin awesome, that's why! Sarina Bowen writes characters with some much heart and soul that you fall in love with them as they they fall in love with each other. Leila and Matteo definitely continue to make me fall in love with Sarina's universe of characters.
Good As Gold kicks off a new series following the Giltmaker family, but we see favorites from the World of True North in the Shipleys and the Rossis. Matteo Rossi can't help but fall hard for Leila Giltmaker after a long absence, and I'm glad he found his way back home.
Like all of the other World of True North books, Good as Gold is a standalone set in Vermont, with lots of humor, heart and heat to keep you satisfied. Matteo Rossi left Vermont a long time ago and stayed away because the girl he loves wasn't his for the taking. But here he is, 14 years later, back for his brother's wedding, and now that woman is not just available, but ready to help heal his heart and his relationship with his family. Leila is recently divorced, but she knows what she wants more than anything in the world - she wants to be a mother. When Matteo walks back into her life, she knows that he's meant to be her baby's daddy.
Matteo and Leila both have a lot of healing to do, as individuals and on their path to coupledom. They are both really beautiful, caring souls, and they were meant to be even though they didn't realize it when they were teenagers. They brought out amazing feelings in each other, and they truly showed each other how love can heal. The audiobook, narrated by Jason Clarke and Lessa Lamb, was truly superb. They both brought so much emotion and feeling to their performances, and they help you fall even more in love with the story and characters that Sarin Bowen has written.
