About this listen

Sam Parker is a vampire with a gift so strong and substantial that she is invited to partake in a test for a place in the Grand High Master Vampire's private army. She finds that not only has the army never included a woman, but it has never included a Svente vampire; a breed that is regarded by the super strong Pagori breed and the hypnotically beautiful Keja breed to be too tame and human-like.

Most refuse to take her seriously, especially a Pagori commander named Jared who she craves in spite of herself. The Grand High Master, however, sees her potential and offers her the position of Jared's co-commander to help train the newest squad in time for the impending attack on his home. Sam has to demonstrate to Jared and the squad of chauvinists why it is incredibly foolish to underestimate a wilful, temperamental, borderline-homicidal Svente female.

Ghastly supposedly English accent!!

Entertaining enough story spoiled by the male attempting an English London accent! Really terrible! Please don’t bother, just speak American to stop the pain an English person feels!

good story but...

It was a good story and I would of bought the next book if the Male parts had been read by the Male and the female parts had been read by the female I hate a Male doing a female accent.

a vampiric lovestory with audio porn content

for me there needed more plot and twists to balance the very raunchy sex scenes. the heroin is quite likeable but for such a strong feminist character the dithering over bedding her man just didnt fit. also the male narrator didnt quite get Sam's voice.

A brilliant sexy vampire story

I enjoyed the book very much. Being English and living close to London England, my only negative was that considering Sam Parker was meant to be a Cockney neither narrator honed the Cockney accent at all. PJ still sounded like an American badly attempting Cockney and Justine, although doing a great middle class British English accent, did not sound like a Cockney either. Americans often struggle with British English and Canadians, when mimicking British English do a good job but British dialects aren't easy. A voice coach may have helped to make it more believable, or maybe it would have been better to have left out the Cockney element from the story altogether. That said both narrators were brilliant and I absolutely loved the story. I'm looking forward to listening to Suzanne Wright's The Bite That Binds, now x

let down by the narration

Whilst the time of both narrator's voices was good their accents and character voices are dreadful. Each narrator's versions of the different characters were vastly different from the other's.
This female narrator insists on doing the most ridiculous attempt at a British accent. It comes across as a completely phoney upper class accent which is completely at odds with the slang terms the character uses. The male narrator's version of the same character is the voice equivalent of a caricature and nothing like any woman's voice - ever!

The story might have been good but i can only remember the awful narration

ok

as other reviews have mentioned, the male narration is painful - such a dodgy English accent and one completely different to the female narrator (who i enjoyed). otherwise, an easy listen

A Fun, Violent, and Steamy 4.25 ⭐️ Book.🎉💥🔥📖🎧

This was a really enjoyable audiobook. Both narrators did good jobs with their characters and a decent-ish job with the accents. It kept me gripped without taking me out of the story.👏

I absolutely loved Sam. She was just so bad@ss, but also had a vulnerable side that she tried hide.🥰 Jared was a complete a-hole with his old-fashioned and bigoted thinking! But damn, he was pretty!🥵😆 I loved the differences between him and Evan.

I was thoroughly entertained by this book from start to finish. I enjoyed most of the characters. I found Antonio, Luther, Sebastian, and Fletcher especially fun.😍

I'm excited to read more from this series.⭐️
