Piper has written yet another great book. With good characters and a brilliant performance from Thomas it’s a double whammy!

Thomas Locklear narration is just amazing .. hot and sizzles . Between the writing and narration, you may over heat..


This book has suspense, action and drama filled romance that is hot.

Michael is a single dad and an important person in his mafia family , while it he is at his twins school to speak with their teacher Daniella when an assailant comes in and attacks her but Michael stops her abduction.
Daniella finds herself pulled into Michael's life due to her brother.

Before reviewing Michael's story I have to say that this is a non-spoiler review so I won't be going into detail about the book except to say that it is not in any way a sweet love story, it's dark because Michael can be brutal he demands obedience, his sexual desires and demands must be obeyed and the punishments he doles out are brutal and sometimes vicious. He does however love his family and will do anything to protect them, his wife was murdered and he's now bringing up his two children alone.

Danielle's the children's teacher and upon learning that her teaching position is coming to an end asks Michael to come and see her so she can discuss his son's behaviour. But before they can conclude their meeting someone makes an attempt on Michael life, was she part of the plan? Can she be trusted? He doesn't know so he takes her prisoner, Danielle is strong and feisty and tries to fight Michael at every turn but soon realises that he's far too strong for her. As I've come to expect from Piper's stories the hero, if you can call Michael that, falls in love with his Hostage! Whilst Danielle's love for him and his children teaches him it's ok to love someone and to show it.

This is a well-written, deeply dark and sometimes disturbing story, it has action, intrigue, violence, betrayal and drama as well as some incredibly heated sex scenes - it is not for the squeamish so if any of this might offend then give this one a miss. If however, you enjoy reading Piper's incredibly hot stories then, sit down, sit back and immerse yourself into Michael's world and learn how Danielle's love changed him for the better. Don't get me wrong he's still the ruthless man he was at the start of the book but there's no denying the love he has for his Hostage and his children.

The narration of this book is wonderfully done by the super talented Thomas Locklear, If you have ever listened to Thomas before you know what to expect but if you haven't then you are in for a treat - his work is always excellent.
