About this listen
It’s every girl’s dream, getting rescued by a handsome stranger. When I woke up and saw Kit Green standing over me, I thought he was an angel. I didn’t see the dark wings.
What is he doing out here all alone? I don’t question it at first. I’m too busy being blinded by intrigue and desire. If it weren’t for him, I’d be dead. I want to repay him with my body.
But things quickly begin to not add up. This cabin is full of secrets. It’s cold outside, but I’m starting to think he came out here to burn for his sins.
Disclaimer: The Cabin is a stand-alone dark romance. This story deals with the struggles of post-traumatic stress disorder and finding a reason to live when everything around you seems bleak. Heat Level: Smokin’ Hot.

So Sweet
Kit carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He was a medic in the army and watched many soldiers die on his watch. Including his brother. He blames himself and the guilt of their deaths and his responsibility weighs down on him every day. He has nightmares every single night. He had his mind is made up to kill himself. He's all set to do it and then he hears a woman in danger. He acts on instinct and saves her. Meeting her changes everything for him. This was a very beautiful story. I think the author portrayed a PTSD victim very well. I love that she even gave some background information about the disease for readers who may not be aware of it. She didn't even sugar coat the horror behind it. She left it raw for the readers to see and feel. It made me love the story that much more. I didn't really care for the "insta love" thing, but that's just my personal opinion. I can say this story makes me believe in fate. Clearly he was meant to rescue her. And by rescuing her, he was clearly meant to rescue himself as well. The other problem I had with this story was that it just wasn't long enough. I say that a lot though. And again, I realize this is just my personal opinion. Overall, I enjoyed this story very much. It gives hope and positivy to a world that's so dark and depressing. It's a feel good story that I would read again and again. I definitely recommend this book. I'm glad I stumbled across it. It's definitely worth the read.

The beginning of the book started out strong...
The beginning of the book started out strong capturing the pain of Kit. In depths of despair, an unexpected event stays his intended plan. Ivy finding herself in a precarious position, is fortunate to be rescued by Kit. I liked aspects of the story, but I was not wholly committed to the story. I found the narrator's voice to be off putting as it had robotic tone, which was distracting.

A delicate balence
Sky Corgan was brave to take on the subject of PTSD in this novel. It's not something most people understand nor have the patience to want to understand.
In this novel Kit struggles with demons and Sky writes on the subject of PTSD with respect and a glossary understanding of two people saving each other. While PTSD for each individual is as different as each snowflake, she does a great job at not minimizing anyone's feelings.
While this novel moves fast in a relationship between Kit and Ivy, it's the sensitivity and emotion that draw you in.
Sophie James does a terrific job at switching between Kit and Ivy so you capture the thoughts and ride along with each character.

I so love the way this is written!
I am a Sky Corgan fan and have been since I read her books for the first time. She is a go to author for me. This one is no different. I loved these characters, and how he saved her when he had no hope left, and in turn, she gives him something in return. I hate spoilers, so I’m trying to keep from giving anything up here. I will just say, if you haven’t read or listened to this, you need to!

Emotional rollercoaster
Such a great emotional read/listen. I really enjoyed the storyline of this book. I do love a tortured hero. This was the first book from this author but definitely not my last.

Rescuing each other.
This is quick listen, brining together a lost soul and someone who might be his salvation. I quite enjoyed this listen and was definitely invested in Kit regaining his sense of worth. The topic if PTSD is such a serious one that I am not sure the story really did it justice, though I did feel that Sky Corgan treated it seriously. Sophie James narrated the story well, differentiating between the two characters effectively.

short story
This was a short story and delt with some emotional issues. For a short story I think it was good but what I think was missing was the ending. I felt like the story just ended without any closure. One other small thing that bugged be was some of the phrases that we're used seemed juvenile. As for the narrator I really wasn't a fan. I felt like she didn't give anything to the story and for me personally I didn't enjoy the voice.
