About this listen
Vasili Nikolaev.
Dangerous. Deadly. And most of all, devastating.
He’s the king of New Orleans.
Ruler of the Russian mafia and my best friend’s oldest, mouthwatering brother.
On Halloween night my last year in college, I gave him everything. My body. My heart. My soul.
He burned it all to the ground with the first ray of dawn.
Lessons learned. I’ve moved on. Now, five years later, I have a career I love, a boyfriend. But Vasili is back in my life again. A temptation I don’t need.
One thing is for certain. Nikolaev always settles the score.
He’ll destroy everything and everyone, including my boyfriend.
The question is… What is Vasili’s end game?
Will he destroy me all over again or will I be the Phoenix rising from the ashes he left behind and take what I've always wanted? Him.

Audiobook Drama, not a fan
Ok so hear me out…this book is amazing, the characters are well written, the storyline is exciting and gripping however I have discovered I’m not a fan of “Audiobook Drama “. This audio has sound effects, but not just the odd gunshot etc….theres quite a few chapters that there is constant music playing, not great music either. The sex scenes had embarrassing moaning and groaning, it was like listening to a 70’s porno😱 (totally not my bag baby). I listen to audiobooks because my imagination does the work for me, I feel that the narrators done a brilliant job but all the mess around the performance took away from it. But hey, that’s just my opinion. Each to their own.

Suddenly had background music
I read this as I’d already Read the next in the series, I was really enjoying it until suddenly in chapter 12 background music started and continued, for instance caster 13 had the noise of a beating and the pulling off a jacket. Now don’t get me wrong if it as like it from the beginning or noted in the blurb that would be ok but very off putting half way through !!

Fantastic listen!
Mafia romance is one of my favorites, and Eva Winners always checks all the boxes for me. This is a little different, kind of a nod to her Belles and Mobsters series, but stands alone and is a fantastic story. Isabella and Tatiana have been best friends since rooming together their freshman year in college. Meeting her brothers was part of the package, and her brother Vasili caught her eye. 20 years her senior, he is the head of the New Orleans Russian Mafia, but this never was apparent when around the girls. He just made sure they were always kept safe. Now he takes Isabella home one night when she was in trouble, and after a steamy night told her it meant nothing and was an act of revenge. Confused and hurt, she moves on but never forgets. Years later though, he's back and now he knows what he wants. Question is does she? Layers and layers of danger, secrets, betrayals, and passion line this story and it is intricately woven with an incredible love story. Cameos by a couple of the B&M characters are a fun addition and I found myself completely immersed in this one. It's a great weekend listen.
Making it even better is the narration team of Mackenzie Cartwright and Troy Duran! This pairing is the perfect duet voicing sound for these characters. Cartwright is Isabella, full of emotion, from the crush to true love. Duran pulls out the slight Russian accent as Vasili, very dominant and very sensual. These two brought this story alive and it was an amazing performance.

A Sinful and Thrilling Mafia Romance
The Sinful Cave was a spicy read! The dark and delicious atmosphere was perfect for me. It's a prequel to the upcoming 'Belles and Mobsters' series by Eva Winners. This story is about Isabella and Vasili, a fiery romance with an age gap and a mafia vibe. Vasili is the boss of the Russian mafia in New Orleans, and Isabella can't resist him despite the risks. They have an unforgettable Halloween night, but then Vasili breaks Isabella's heart. Five years later, Isabella has moved on, but when they meet again, old feelings come rushing back. Will she allow him to destroy her life again, or will she finally get what she's always wanted? I was completely hooked; it's a smooth read, with adrenaline-filled twists and perfect character development. If you enjoy mafia love stories, I highly recommend it!

Sinfully Amazing Story & Narration🎧
Eva Winners never ceases to amaze me with her incredible writing skills, storytelling, and world building. The Den of Sin is a standalone novel set in the same world as the amazing “Belles & Mobsters” series, which I loved. There are cameos of some characters from that series and it was great seeing them in a different light, since this story takes place prior. This book is Vasili Nikolaev and Isabella Taylor’s story, Vasili is the head of the Russian mafia in New Orleans and Isabella is his younger sister Tatiana’s best friend and college roommate. Isabella’s mother had a connection to the “Belles & Mobster” world, but her mother kept her far away from it. But Vasili made it is business to know everyone’s business, and he is a ruthless man who does whatever it takes to get things done, even with his vendettas. Isabella had a crush on Vasili despite his age difference, but after he gets what he wants, he gets nasty with her and moves on, leaving her broken-hearted. She moved on, went to med school and is in a relationship, but then he shows up in her life again, and creating havoc. Wow, just wow, I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out. It is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Eva Winners, thank you for another wild and amazing story.
🎧📚🎧 Troy Duran and MacKenzie Cartwright are two of my favorite narrators and they did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting, accents and all. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Duran nailed it as Vasili, grasping every aspect of his personality, from his ruthlessness alpha-tude to his over protective possessiveness. Cartwright’s Isabella was spot on and showcased her personality perfectly. Both were just as amazing performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. I could have done without the sound effects and music that was added in the background to dramatize the story, that the story and performance were enough in itself and it did not add any value or enhancement, plus some things are better left to the imagination. That said, I did not let it to bother me or take away from enjoying the audiobook. Thanks for another great listen.

My Thoughts on The Den of Sin
The story was great, but that background music and the sounds were so distracting. I honestly love a good mafia romance, and this totally hit the mark. Even the notable age gap between the two main characters didn’t bother me. I thought both main characters were well written and the secrets as well as twists and turns were well laid out to keep things interesting. The main issue that prevented me from fully enjoying this audio experience was the background music and sounds. I don’t mind if the narrators themselves add in certain sounds that are relevant to the particular moment, but hearing the sounds in the background behind the narrators themselves was distracting for me and didn’t add to the experience. Outside of that this was a fantastic book, and I would certainly check out more from this author and these narrators.

Family Secrets
Loved this book and the added touches of the music and props. I love a good mafia romance and this one did not disappoint . Isabella has no idea what she has gotten herself into when she sleeps with her best friend’s older brother but he proceeds to break her heart and it shapes her life. Family secrets have a way of coming out and in this book they do in a big way.

Vasili and Isabella
The Den of Sin - was a good mafia story with enjoyable characters. Isabella was best friends/college room-mates with Vasili's sister Tatiana. Vasili is your usual crime family alpha hole and some of his actions like putting things into action in Isabella's life had me shaking my head. He just needed his heart and head to be on the same page and go after what he wanted, Isabella. There is a considerable age-gap and the story is filled with secrets coming to light, so many twists and turns that kept me invested in their story.
Narrated by Mackenzie Cartwright and Troy Duran - they both did a great job with the narration characters.
I'm not sure why production decided to add sound effects to this title (my first Eva Winners title like this) but it made it a struggle to continue the story! It was so distracting with the constant music playing in several chapters, that I searched my phone thinking maybe a game was on in the background. The sounds of punches, moans and groans during spicy times etc all became too much but I can't hold that against the narrators.
