Summary
Once upon a time, a lion saved a girl. His little cinnamon girl.
That lion grew up into a prince. Dark, bitter, and so beautiful that it hurt to look at him.
But underneath it all, the girl saw the man. She saw his hunger for love and affection, and she had plenty to give.
I was that girl. I fell in love, even though he told me not to. I gave him everything, because that was who I was.
I was determined to show him the light in this world, and his smiles were what I lived for. He was my art, my melody, my muse. We were beautiful together.
So I gave and gave, all to my bitter prince. Until I had nothing left to give.
Until he left me empty.
No one warned me love would push me into darkness so cold, it’d tear me apart.
To survive, I’d have to kill the cinnamon girl and become someone else. Someone I didn’t recognize. This book is part of a trilogy and can't be read on its own.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Moving & Intense!
Eva Winners blows me away with another amazing novel, mafia romance like no other, and is a fantastic start to her “Stolen Empire” series. This story hooks you right in, grabs your attention, and holds it hostage the entire time. In this first book of the trilogy, we meet the two lead characters when they are young and are taken through the years with pit stops at certain periods of time, mainly when they interact again or when events occur that are meaningful to their story, up to when Reina was eighteen and Amon, our Bitter Prince, in his early twenties. A great telling of their story, and I loved watching their relationship grow and how Amon danced around her, looked out for her and kept her protected without her knowledge. The chemistry between these two was through the roof, and he knew she was it for him, and she felt the same about him. And that ending, wow, just wow, never saw that coming and talk about getting the rug pulled out from under you. I loved all the layers of this well-crafted story, and the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Besides the two lead characters there are some other key players, including her sister, Phoenix, and I loved the bond they shared and his brother Dante, but the jury is still out on how I feel about him. Eva Winners, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧Gideon Frost and Brooke Daniels did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each a voice that was fitting and was believable in every role. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, with Frost nailing it as Amon and Daniels doing the same as Reina, both grasping every aspect of their character’s personality while taking them through the years, and they were just as amazing performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and you feeling them all. These two are a great team, with voices and talent that complements each other and a performance that elevates the already fantastic story to another level. Thank you for another amazing and entertaining listen.

Captivating
Eva Winners is an exceptional storyteller, Bitter Prince was another captivating and heartfelt story. I can’t wait to finish this story as it does end on a cliffhanger. Amon and Reina have a unique relationship and undeniable chemistry. I’m not usually a fan of slow burns but it works for their story and the ongoing drama and action kept me intrigued throughout .
Lee Daniels and Gideon Frost narrate this story beautifully in duet and brought these characters to life. I did notice some clicks within the story and chapter 28 I believe where it seemed some parts dropped. Minor inconveniences which Halie. Sometimes with duet books in production.

The best of romantic suspense!
I don't know how Eva Winners does it, but every book I have listened to is original and exciting. This is the first in her Stolen Empire series, and it's amazing! Amon and Reina are destined to be together. From the beginning, when young, he was taken with her, but even when she's seventeen, the chemistry between them is off the charts. With good guidance from her sister Phoenix and friends, she is cautious and adventurous all at the same time. What she doesn't know is how much Amon watched out for her over time. And now, just when times are looking good, Eva Winner throws a wench in that leads to a cliffhanger that is unbelievable! I cannot wait to dive into book 2, as this has just left me wanting more!
And bringing it alive is Gideon Frost and Brooke Daniels. Frost is so good. I can't get over the alpha protector he is as Amon. A bit growlie, and that voice is like a hug around Reina, but is like a knife to his enemies. Daniels is Reina, a bit naive and mature all at the same time. These two are fantastic together in this and I can't wait to hear them again!!
