Ben Cattaneo is a decision-making, strategy, and risk management professional as well as podcast host. He is the founder of The Decision-Making Studio, a consultancy that helps leaders and organizations practice and embed quality decision-making under uncertainty. Before this, Ben held a senior risk management role at British Telecom, the UK’s largest telecoms firm, during which he designed and helped implement the company’s approach to risk management and decision-making. Before that, Ben had a successful career as a strategy and risk management consultant with Accenture, where he worked with companies in the energy and financial services sectors, and with the world’s largest consulting firm in sustainability and geopolitical risk. Throughout his career, he has helped clients in the energy, financial services, mining and metals, government, and not-for-profit sectors understand, prepare for, and make decisions around the uncertainties posed by geopolitics, climate change, stakeholder perception, and a range of other areas. Ben has worked on projects on all continents and has spent a large part of his early career based in Southeast Asia. He has written articles, spoken at conferences, and appeared in print, radio, and television media on these topics. He also lectured on decision-making and resilience at Yale University. Ben also hosts and produces the All-Things Risk podcast, dedicated to the understanding of risk and uncertainty. He has produced over 200 episodes in which he speaks with some of the most prominent thought leaders and practitioners on topics related to decision-making and risk, including geopolitics, finance, sports, the arts, adventuring, business and entrepreneurship, behavioral science, and a wide variety of other areas. A Canadian citizen based in London, Ben holds master’s degrees in financial economics from the University of London (UK) and in International Relations from the University of Geneva’s Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Switzerland), in addition to an Honors bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Windsor (Canada).
