Rev. Dr. Bob Sawvelle and his wife, Carolyn, are the founding and Senior Leaders of Passion Church in Tucson, Arizona. At Passion Church, Bob functions as the Senior Pastor and primary Teaching Pastor; he oversees curriculum and course development, leadership training, and church business affairs. Bob earned a M.Th. from Jacksonville Theological Seminary (1999) and a D.Min. degree from United Theological Seminary (2013). His doctoral project focused on the validity of Christian healing ministry as it relates to evangelism and church growth. He is ordained with Global Awakening Ministries, led by Dr. Randy Clark. In the beginning of their ministry, Bob and Carolyn served as missionaries to Haiti, and they also served as a youth and missions pastors in Florida. In 1994, while on a stateside trip from Haiti, the Holy Spirit powerfully impacted Bob and Carolyn while in revival meetings at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (now Catch the Fire Ministries), and the following year they connected with Dr. In 1994, while on a stateside trip from Haiti, the Holy Spirit powerfully impacted Bob and Carolyn while in revival meetings at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (now Catch the Fire Ministries), and the following year, they connected with Dr. Randy Clark in revival and healing meetings in Melbourne, Florida. Since their encounter with God in Toronto, Bob and Carolyn have desired nothing less than to be filled with God’s Spirit and to allow Christ’s love and power to flow through them to change and heal the lives of others. Bob has a heart for the poor and hurting, and he believes that God wants His people to carry His love and power beyond the four walls of church buildings to those in need. Bob’s passion is to help Christians grow in knowledge and faith in this important area of empowered Kingdom ministry. He longs to bring non-believers to Christ and reach others with God’s love and power by training ordinary believers to walk in Christ’s authority. In 2001, the Lord directed Bob and his family to move to Tucson, AZ, where they started Passion Church. His ministry and church routinely witness God’s healing grace when they pray. Other gifts of the Spirit accompany God’s healing grace at Passion Church. Bob is a natural teacher and, in his pursuit to help Christians grow in knowledge and faith, he spends a lot of time researching and writing. His most recent book, Our Eyes Are on You: Principles to Prevail in Faith and Prayer, is a book all about prayer. He has written two books on healing, A Case for Healing Today and Receive Your Miracle Now. He authored an encouraging book on victorious Christian living, Fulfill Your Dreams: Seize the Day and Be Extraordinary. In addition to his pastoral duties and writing, Bob is a D.Min. mentor for the Randy Clark Scholars cohort at United Theological Seminary (UTS). He serves as an adjunct professor, teaching Master’s-level classes in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting at Global Awakening Theological Seminary (GATS). He is also an online course facilitator for Global Awakening’s Christian Healing Certification Program (CHCP) and Christian Prophetic Certification Program (CPCP).
