Charlotte Bradman is a writer, artist, poet and occasional singer from Keighley, West Yorkshire. She has a BA Hons in Fine Art from Bradford College, is a keen advocate of outdoor swimming and lives in a campervan. After a volatile and turbulent childhood, and a subsequent young adulthood complicated further by booze and drugs, Charlotte eventually found solace in mindfulness, long distance hiking, throwing herself frequently into freezing cold water and, as she says, ‘replacing my old addictions with new ones such as chocolate and peanut butter milkshakes!’. Her debut book, The Happy Nomad is both a memoir and a manifesto, urgently questioning the status quo of the world we live in, re-framing trauma, and looking in-depth at our relationship with material things. The Happy Nomad also reveals the ten things that no one can live without, why a ‘leisure battery’ is not something stocked by Ann Summers and why an amorous porpoise should never be ignored... Follow her campervan, hiking and swimming adventures @wildwomanintheblue on Instagram.
