Daniel Villablanca is an entrepreneur with a passion for technological disruptions, born in the city of Los Angeles, Chile. An Engineer and Economist from the University of Chile, he has participated in the early stages of innovations such as the personal computer, the Internet, and the solar industry in Chile. In the 80s, he led a group that achieved the first Internet connection between the School of Economics of the University of Chile and the University of California (UCLA). In the 90s, he was the founder and Country Manager of Microsoft in Chile and participated in the early stages of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) in Latin America. As a serial entrepreneur and investor, in 2010 he co-founded Solar Chile, a pioneering company in the development of the world's largest free-standing solar plant in the Atacama Desert, which kickstarted the solar industry in that country, and was later acquired by First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR), the largest developer of solar plants in the world. He has also participated in several ventures in the mobile and biotechnology industries, among others.
