I spent 30 years in law enforcement, the first 6 as a local police officer in Pennsylvania where I served in patrol as well as a Detective. I left local policing and became a Special Agent, then a Special Agent Supervisor with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for the next 23 years. My posts of duty included Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mobile, Alabama., Copenhagen, Denmark, McAllen, Texas, Pensacola, Florida, DEA Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia and Youngstown, Ohio. After retiring from the D.E.A., I began teaching criminal Justice classes at the University of South Alabama and then later at Huntingdon College. I also founded a private investigations and consulting business and was certified trainer for private investigators in Alabama. Murder at Mardi Gras is my first novel and takes the readers to many places I’ve actually visited during my law enforcement career. I also insert real law enforcement situations that I’ve encountered and observed into this work of fiction.
