About me. Well, my profile picture depicts me in a suit and tie. That is a rarity in my world, where woodland camouflage pants and a white T shirt is the attire of the day. I’m a boomer, born in 1957 and I live in rural northwest Wisconsin on a little chunk of land with my wife Kate and our assortment of animals. Being raised on a farm, preparedness was a way of life, and it still is. Even now in my late 60’s, I still pressure can vegetables from the garden and venison that I harvest. In 1979, I entered the United States Air Force, and stayed in until 1988. Those years were, without a doubt, the best years of my life. After the Air Force, I started an Archery business in my hometown, and competed professionally across the country. Eventually, the glory days of archery passed and I went back to work as a crane operator, something I’d done since the age of 22. In 2012, I retired. Besides writing, I absolutely love tinkering with small block Chevy engines out in my shop. I have two classic Chevy’s, a 1972 K10, and a 1975 Corvette.
