Like a lot of boys, all he wanted to do was play video games. It wasn’t until his late teens that he discovered a love of reading, and he realised that he would have gotten into reading a lot sooner if the right book had been out there for him. In his twenties, while working as a children’s bookseller, he decided to write the kind of book he would have loved as a young teen - a book for reluctant readers who love video games and have a short attention span when it comes to reading.
